Secrets…she had a secret…it was not a bad secret…it was just a secret. Nathan knew from speaking to Maddox …that the girl took pictures…was pretty handy with a camera. When he was out at work she was out taking pictures…sending them in…collecting proceeds. Those proceeds added up…it took time…with a hint of guilt….but in time she had saved up what she needed for the gift she wanted to get Nathan. Looking at her husband one might not see that he was a huge geek in a pretty package. But he was probably the biggest geek she had ever met…truthfully…just look in the bedroom he kept so he could show off his geekiness.
The day started off just like any other…she woke before he did…making her way to the kitchen where she prepared him a rather large breakfast. Only a few slices of bacon for herself…plans of making her way back into the bed while it was still warm…danced in her head. After he ate…he was sent off with a kiss…before door was locked behind him….to the bed she went….curling up in the warmth and promptly falling back asleep.
Awakening a few hours later…after a trip to the restroom…the kitchen…before slipping out of the house. Using the SUV that Nathan had given her…yes she was a kept woman…backing out of the garage…using the gizmo to close it…off she went.
Not going to the mall…she headed for the specialty electronics store…just past the over packed inside mall. Once inside she did not stop to ask for directions…steps did not falter not once as she moved towards the laptops…along with the netbooks and desktops. Her mind was made up that she was getting him a laptop…but not just any lap top…oh no. When the workers came over to ask if they could help…smile slipped over her features…words were quiet but the man new what she was wanting. Funny how sometimes playing the helpless clueless female worked to your advantage. Having done some research she had a feeling of what she wanted…when the man asked what it would be used for….her research was confirmed. Agreeing to the extended warranty that she had 30 days to keep or start paying for…unsure if he would want that or not…she left the store with a nice big bag. A few other items had been placed inside…before finding her way to the car.
Arriving home…glancing to the phone…glad she had not missed any calls or texts…but really whom did she know? Not to many people. Maddox had his hands full with Apple after her ordeal….no call was expected there…for a while. Wondering if he was still smarting from when she had to knock him out. Putting her phone on the table…the sound of it rattling on the table would let her know if a call or text came across…setting the packages down. Moving about to grab out what she needed she would wrap her purchases…before setting them in the empty spot that was waiting for the tree. Nathan knew she wanted a live tree…no fake tree would do…oh she was excited he said that this upcoming weekend they would be able to get one. The presents… all wrapped in shiny silver paper with green and red ribbons…sitting there were just a bit of a hey what is missing over here?
