A Dream within an Unnamed Shoppe behind the French Quarter

Doors opened to allow the moonlight to bathe the entrance. One bare foot crossed the threshold then the other. Pale ankles were soon covered by a full length cotton dress. Hands gripped the fabric in fist fulls. The dress seemed to never end as Cypress stepped away from the entrance. A slow walk at first then she started to run. A fog rolled across the grass as she ran. The grass was giving away to dirt fresh turned soil under her feet as she ran. From the corners of her eyes she could see the tops of tombstones and statues of angels. Still she kept running. Until finally she slowed down to a walk. In front of her was a large tree. A deep brown bark with low hanging leaves. Cypress reached out to the seemingly bare tree with her hand. The leaves danced in the rush of wind turning a vibrant shade of green. Staring up at it she could see the small buds of flowers. She felt another hand touch the back of her own. A current raced through her body. She stared upwards to watch fruit grow in an increased pace. Apples ripe and deep red started to grow before her very eyes. Her lips parted in a large smile exposing the dimples at her cheeks. She turned her head when the larger hand was removed.

Pure white irises glanced upwards to the face that was handsome and delicate in features but with a true masculine structure. Eyes of green stared down at her. Her smile faded at the edges yet was held in the depths of her eyes. Reaching up to brush her hand across his face, she felt dirt form within her hand before she touched the man's face. Reaching up with her other hand the same happened, dirt forming as she reached. When skin touched skin, she pressed that rich soil to the man's face. It smoothed across his cheeks as he held her wrists to press more of her soil covered palms to his skin. All around them the fog rose, and with it, it seemed so did she. Arms circled his neck, holding to his shoulders. Those hands of his traveled the length of her thicker arms to wrap around her waist lifting her from the ground.

Where he touched her skin, Cypress felt warmth, a heat of all living things. It filled her veins bringing life into her pale skin. Where her skin touched his own, it was as if more dirt was forming, more to cover him in a thin layer rich soil. From somewhere, and yet no real true point she heard the words "Life to Death, Death to Life. The Cycle can never be broken..." Her mouth bent to touch his lips, she could taste the rich soil already forming on her lips. His mouth reached up to meet hers....

A loud ever resounding tapping noise. Tap, tap, tap, tap, TAP. TAP. TAP. TAP!! Waking slowly from the dream. She could still feel the effects of the fog clinging to her mind. Unsure of what the dream meant. She needed to talk to her Aunt about it. Though thinking back she could still see his face. A handsome man with eyes of emeralds. His hands were strong, fingers long and slightly delicate in appearance yet the callouses showed he worked a lot with his hands.

This had not been the first time she had seen him. This was the only time she touched him in such a way. He had always been in her dreams, never in person. So it troubled her even more. His face like a haunting vision she could not shake.

Eyes opened slowly in the scape of his dream.  how did he know it was a dream? would you believe magic? no? well how about the fact that he was presently standing outside. In the dark, alone, emerald gaze swept around the landscape about him before looking down to peer at his body. he was barefoot. and standing on soft loose packed soil; that alone was enough to please  the magic user.  Gabriel wasn't a hippy or anything he wasn't a member of Greenpeace, or Peta. but he did have a connection to the earth, and relished in it. Clad otherwise in jeans and a T-shirt Gabriel started walking through the darkness, why? who knows. but, something urged him to urged him to walk bathed in the wonderful glow of the moon overhead.

he really had no clue how long he was walking, dreams where like that y'know.  time was a whole mess when it was all in your head.   his long(or short) trek brought him upon a tree, and in front of that three was a woman, garbed all in white. a slight tilt of his head. carefully he approached her. had this been the woman before.? she'd been there , in his dreams a great many times, but never where he could reach out to her.

With a bit of fear, carefully he reached forward and placed his hand over her own, as she pressed it into the tree. his heart pounded within his chest as she turned around, her white eyes meeting his own, and she was smiling. smiling and he couldn't help but smile too. still holding her wrist she reached forward,  pressing what appeared to be a handful of topsoil against his skin. the earthy scent filled his nose and he brought the other hand to hold her opposite wrist, purshing her to do tha same with that hand.

Mist, began to gather around them and she began to  rise. his hands slid from hers, down the length of her pale arms. falling to her waist, she was warm. and when he gave her a squeeze he lifted her more into the air. words echoed through his head. " Life to Death, Death to Life. The cycle can never be broken" her lips where lowering down to his own, and softly, their lips met.

Which is exactly when he would wake with a start. jumping  to to complete wakefulness without much of a middle place. he opened his eyes and  watching himself in the rear-view mirror. it was then that he chose to get out of his truck, and start to where he had hidden the body,  reaching down and picking up a handful of the soil.  he brought it to his face and drew in the scent deeply. eyes moving tot he sky as he dropped it. a quick sigh and Gabriel turned away, returning to his truck  he roared the engine to life and started south... south was the place he was supposed to be.
