Faith's glowing eyes had the little wolf on edge, she had been waiting for some kind of attack, some kind of fight, but what she was getting instead was just downright unnerving! A sensation of being petted, and a vampire purring at her, trying to tell jokes? It made a shiver race down her spine as her fingers curled inwards like claws, just waiting to lash out and wipe the smile off of the pretty little night-walker's face. Her upper lip lifted in a partial snarl as she felt the metaphysical tug on her beast that Faith was enacting. Like a puppet following directions Laney took an involuntary step closer before even realizing what she was doing and stopped, her spine stiffening.
"No!" The word was one brief but loud exclamation as she fought to resist the urge to do exactly as Faith had asked. Her beast whined, making a growl leave her own lips while hazel eyes tried to focus on anything but the pretty little blonde. Ash was at the edge of her vision, but she didn't look to him for guidance, not yet. She couldn't always look to him for help, but had to learn and prove she could do this on her own.

Oh what's wrong? Don't want to play anymore? ::Faith's tone was downright mocking as she took a step back to put another foot of space between herself and the were. If she was going to keep pulling on Laney's chain, she'd need room enough to do it. A light smile tugged at Faith's lips as she shoved her hands into the pockets of her jackets and took as casual a stance as she possibly could while wearing heels and staring down an angry werewolf:: Hey, you're the one that wants to be a big bad scourge on all things undead. I honestly don't see the appeal though. So they popped your newly turned cherry and made fun of your hair, you're honestly going to walk around for the rest of your violent existence carrying that cross around with you like a siame..pardon me, conjoined twin? ::Her blue eyes nearly glowed as Faith leaned in, risking facial damage sure but doing it anyway, and smiled at Laney. Making sure the girl saw the pair of gleaming white fangs that were out, and proud and on full display in their Proud Parade best.:: You're going to be so no fun at parties.
::While true, Faith probably wouldn't go to any of the parties that would have her as a guest. Not to say that she felt that she was above it all, just even in life she drew a line at going to the bars. There were people she didn't know there. And the point of going out was to meet new people. Not make polite chit chat with the ones you already knew. Then again she was a bit of a workaholic with an "only child" syndrome. Still, Faith smiled, fangs and all, and pushed the tendrils of her power into Laney's aura again. If Laney's beast was a physical thing, Faith'd have slid her fingers through its soft fur and maybe gave it a hearty pat. She knew she wanted to. There was something about the warm energy that it radiated that drew the vampire like the sun. Seeing how the real thing would be very detrimental to her health, this was the next best thing. Faith had to fight to keep her reigns in check and not plunge fully into that warmth.
Soak it up. Wrap it around her fingers and pull on it till the light was all hers. Make it obey, because deep down Faith knew if she tried hard enough she could make it happen. Ash might have an issue with it but it would be too late by then...Forcing herself to take another physical step back, she glanced over her shoulder at where the boys have made their stand and grinned at Ash:: So what else should we or shouldn't we do? Make out? Braid each other's hair? Or should I make her sit and speak on command? ::Before Ash could answer Faith's attention was back on Laney. Her smile dimmed a bit but only because she needed to concentrate.
A lycan's mind wasn't as easy to work with as that of a dishwater human, but despite all of the fangs and the fur and the howl at the moon tendencies, there was still some homosapien in there. In most cases anyway. So Faith relaxed and put a bit of what made a vampire a vampire into her voice. The words were simple enough but the tone was everything. It was designed to lull the mind to relaxation. Let's be best friends it said. Do what I say because it's sounds like such a good idea, it would be crazy not to. So Faith poured it on thick when she spoke.:: Your mouth said No but your eyes say Yes. Come on, say No. Say it like you really mean it...but you don't mean it do you? <D>
Ash stood with his back against the wood of some of the shipping crates. From where he and the Master Vampire stood they could watch the interaction between the girls. Not that there was much to watch since most of what was happening had a metaphysical bend to it, but with their shields lowered it was easy enough to feel what was going on.
As long as Faith didn’t cross any of the agreed upon boundaries then Ash would stay out of it, neither offering advice or support for his protégée. It might seem cruel but he knew that one day Laney would have to face these challenges alone so coddling her now would only do her a disservice in the long run.
Pulling a pack of cigarettes from his pocket he tugged one of the black papered European cigarettes from its pack to press between his full lips. Smoking would kill time until the girls were finished with their metaphysical sparring.
