H I S T O R Y :
Matt was good in history class, but he didn't have much of a personal history. At least he didn't think so. He'd never been in love, never even kissed a girl (not really), and he didn't find his life exciting; just odd. Why? Well, the fact that his parents were vampires was one part of it. Both his mother and father were Sabbat vampires who began passing as humans when they met and decided to settle down and have a child of their very own. It was definitely not ordinary. They were the only vampire bloodline who could procreate, not to mention walk in daylight, and they were the enemies of the vampire and human world which made for some awkward life choices.
Anyway, both his parents were several hundred years old (more awkward) and they were strict as hell (most awkward of all when you're a teenage boy). They insisted that he train for some eventual day when they thought he would be some kind of vampire fighter or something. Personally he was just hoping to pass Calculus and he didn't understand why they couldn't see that he wasn't interested in their holy war.
When he hit puberty in addition to hair in weird places and a growth spurt he also started having his Sabbat abilities show up. Like he really needed to deal with that mess. So his parents took him out of school for a year to help train him through the transition so that he could mask himself. Afterwards they moved back to the States, to the city of New Orleans, where he attends the local high school as a junior.
