Five days in and Maddox was stir crazy, he had been sitting and listening to debates both for an against the shifters in New York. All he wanted to do was go home. See his dogs and more importantly his girl. Their skype conversation the previous night only made him yearn for home more. Maybe thats why after greeting the replacement he had to whip into shape he left him at the debate with a recorder and told him dont move.
Exiting the debate he walked along Amsterdam to a small flower shop. Stepping within he placed and order and stepped back out into the street and back to the debates.
But when Georgia Grace got to his house that night unless she was there to receive the delivery she would find sitting in the door way a very large boquet of various lilies all fragrent and beautiful. The note stood out from the flowers and when opened it would read.
-I was thinking about you today and knew after last night you would miss me more. So since I cant be there to be with you, here are some flowers to let you know I am thinking of you.
Your Attachement, Maddox-
And since he didnt know if she was there or not he sent her a text. -Flight gets in at noon tomorrow. Be home after.-
She was not at Maddox’s house when the delivery had been made, but she had told him that she wasn’t staying around there, she was around for the dogs and she was out and about. Staying at his house constantly when he wasn’t there would of felt weird, and it would of made her miss him more, and that could of caused her to act out.
She received the text before she saw the flowers and she texted back at him. ~ You are getting home early? Did you need a lift from the airport?~
It would be later on that day, before the sun set though, that she pulled up in front of Maddox’s home, noticing the delivery she would park the jeep inside of his garage, taking what she needed from the jeep, closing the door. Slipping into the house she moved to open the door, smiling at the flowers, she brought them inside, placing them on the counter. The envelope was opened and she grinned.
But before she could text him a thank you, she had to let the dogs out, and she did just that, rubbing both of their heads, and then he would get a thank you text that the flowers were lovely. And that she missed him.
He waited anxiously for the first 45 minutes but then it got busy and the debates became outrages and the outrages broke into fights and everything was scattered and he had lost track of time. Things had finally calmed down and both he and the idiot he was teaching were sitting at a cafe drinking coffee and going over notes to make sure he was objective in his reporting.
Hearing the test go off he looked at it and smiled.
-Glad you liked, miss you more. Truck is at the airport Ill see you about 1-
