It was two weeks roughly since the lion had seen the human, and it was probably for the best she had been absent. Radio silence on both ends it would seem. His eyes looked through his contacts as he sat on the back porch of the pride house. Seeing her name he stopped and debated sending a text but instead hit dial and leaned back. Pulling a smoke from the pack he held the cell to his ear waiting to hear her voice. If she answered he would start off. "Hey Peach...hows it going?" Light and casual right? Right.

If she didnt answer and it went to her voicemail. "Hey Peach its Nate, I was wondering if you could spare a few minutes for me? I wanted to run something by you." Just what he wasnt getting to.

She had been a busy little bee, as of late, that she hadn’t even realized that she hadn’t contacted Nate.  With the calls coming in for people wanting her to come and plan their parties, to the things going on in her missing momma’s case, to Maddox and the pups.  She had been reading a book, one of those cheesy romance novels that had her laughing, at most of the scenes.  Did these people really want you to believe that this stuff happened?  Really?  And then she heard the phone ringing, the song took a moment before she blinked.  Setting the phone down she would lift it, before it went to voice mail.

Her voice came across the line all honey with that slight southern drawl, with a hint of surprise.  “Hey Nate….I’m doing good.  How are you doing?”  She was curious because they never called each other, they texted, so since he was calling she was a bit worried about the man.  Because he didn’t seem the sort to call, unless something was on his mind, and it had been a good two weeks since she last spoke to him.

Hearing her pick up the line he looked down to his pack of smokes as he held a lit one in his lips. Pulling it out before he spoke again.

"I got some things going on and I just wanted to let you know I wasnt dead and I've also been thinking about our little deal."

He began his eyes looking from the box of cigs out into the bayou as he took a deep inhale and waited for whatever her response was before continuing.

"Well I can talk to you about it now or we can meet up somewhere?"

He wasnt sure which would be easier but he was game for either.

It probably shocked the man that Georgia Grace had answered the phone.  It seemed that everyone got stuck in voice mail land these days.  But he wasn’t so lucky!   “Well, I must admit I am glad to know your not dead.”  She didn’t point out that everyone had things going on, it’s what kept people moving, and alive.  She hadn’t really thought about that in a while, and she nodded even though he couldn’t see it.  “Oh?”

Well, the way she figured this was going, she figured perhaps it was best to see each other?  Wasn’t that normally how this was handled?   “Where do you want to meet?”  Perhaps she would have been smart to say let’s just talk on the phone, but that wasn’t the case, she was curious, and even though she had a feeling he was something more then he let on, she still wasn’t sure about that.

He chuckled hearing her about being dead and then the Oh? and followed by the ok where we meeting? his eyes looked down to his watch as he pushed up off the chair. "Comic shop in an hour?" he asked as he put out his smoke and stepped inside the house.

And if that worked .... "Alright, I'll seeya then." Hanging up the phone he went and changed and grabbed his various items before hopping on the bike and riding out to the comic shop.

Well, of course, she wouldn’t want him dead.   She didn’t harbor ill feelings towards the man.  And even if she did, she probably wouldn’t want him dead.  She really didn’t wish death on anyone, she wasn’t that sort, it just wasn’t the polite thing to do.  “I will be thereSee ya in about a hour.”  She did remember where the comic book shop was, because it wasn’t to far away from the beach wear shop, and she kept those stuck in her head.

She slipped from the bed, and changed out of her pj’s, she had been lounging in, the bunny slippers, the shorts and the sleep tank.  Dressing into a soft blue tank dress that came out just above her knees, and throwing her feet into a pair of sandals, her hair was left down as it had been lately, soft waves framing her face, and grabbing her hidden wallet thingie that she flipped on her thigh, she lifted the hem of her dress, wallet, phone and money were in place.

Then she slipped out to the jeep, and made her way to the comic book store, she was the sort that liked to be punctual, not early, not late, but right on time.  But when she had a bit of a leeway, she normally was a bit early, unless something distracted her from what she was planning on doing.
