-Astrid would be sitting in her office at The Aerie trying to fill out some paper work that needed to get done. Her eyes would get blurry looking at the print on the paper. She had been up 48 hours without no sleep. She was running on fumes. Stupid nightmare kept plaguing her to the point where she didn't want to go to sleep. So she had been keeping herself busy working non stop. Trying to find everything that she could to keep herself up. -
- Her skin was pale in which she looked like she hadn't been outside in the sun light for at least a month. Her hair wasn't kept up. She evened wore a pair of baggy sweat pants and an oversized T-shirt. Since the only person she let see her was her secretary and she had even gave her the number to this new therapist she had been seeing. So reaching out that pale hand she would bite that very dry lip of hers as she dial the number before placing it to her ear to either talk to someone or to leave a message -
Two rings (it was always two rings) and the voice that answered was male. "Office of Dr. Lindquist, Licensed Psychologist and Hypnotherapist. This is Thomas speaking, how can I help you?"
Thomas was Dr. Lindquist's only employee. He had been with her since she opened up the practice in New Orleans almost three years ago, and he had never missed a day of work. The man was more reliable than the likelihood of Monday following Sunday.
" Hello, I would like to set up a appointment with Briar Lindquist please ? " - She spoke softly into the phone to the male on the other side of the line as she fiddle with the little bit of a sandwich that her secretary made her eat. Since she hasn't been hungry enough to eat anything. Hopefully she would be able to get appointment sooner then later .-
"Certainly," replied the man on the other end of the line. "Dr. Lindquist holds office hours from 4pm to 9pm, Tuesday through Saturday. Emergency counseling can be available outside of prescribed office hours, but at an additional cost. The first available appointment Dr. Lindquist has is tomorrow evening at 6pm, otherwise there are two slots available next week."
Only after saying all of the above did Thomas realize that he had neglected to ask one important question. "Are you a new patient, or returning?" If she was a returning patient, he obviously didn't need to tell her all of that.
" Alright I'll take the 6 pm appointment tomorrow. " - She would write it down on a piece of paper the time and date. Looking at the door to her office as the male rattle off the office hours and other things that she would of needed to know. - " I'm a new patient " - She would bite her bottom lip as she lightly tap her pen on her desk -
She would hear the clicking of keys as Thomas opened the calendar and make a new appointment. "Please arrive at least fifteen minutes early to fill out the standard new patient paperwork, and bring any applicable insurance information or referrals with you. Your name, address, and phone number where you can be reached?" After Thomas had this information from her, she would be in the system and all set for her appointment at 6pm the next day.
- Listening to the key jingle in the background before letting Thomas inform her about arriving fifteen minutes and all the information that she would need. Before breaking out of her daze as she heard him asking about her name,address and phone number where she would be reached. - " Name is Astrid Young and the address is 4 Les Fouquets, Saint-Jean-Froidmentel and the phone numbers are 504-676-1990 is my work and my cell is 504-767-1985"
The clacking of the keys quickened as she gave her personal information. Thomas did not ask for any spellings. Should something be entered wrong into the system, he would fix it when she filled out her paperwork tomorrow. "Alright Ms. Young, I will see you tomorrow at 5:45 for a 6pm appointment with Dr. Lindquist. Have a good day."
Hopefully Astrid didn't have any additional questions, because Thomas had hung up. The questions would have to be saved for the appointment.
