Rounds - Another night at the shifter clinic

Yes, Jessica was on sabbatical, taking time away from work to focus on the Pard but she couldn't just ignore the clinic, she'd spent too many years working long hours, organizing and formalizing care to just take a long vacation. So... she was on sabbatical... and slipping ino her office at the clinic to check up on things and do those bits of administrative work that she just couldn't hand off to someone else to handle.

She had just settled behind her desk and opened her email, quickly searching over the emails that she hadn't already read on her Blackberry. She frowned slightly when she saw the email from Dr. Marshal, the hospital COO. Why hadn't see read that one earlier? It must have been the subject: 'Final on article'. Article? Her brows knit further in confusion as she clicked on the email to read it.

Jessica - the article we discussed for the Herald.com has been finalized and should be up in the next day. I know you're taking time off but please be available for any follow up questions the might come up. We're hoping that there's enough interest in the online article to gain the interest of the other media outlets and we may need you available if that happens.

She stared at the email, groaning softly. She'd forgotten about this, about the press gambit they were starting to promote the clinic. This was the first step, the next was the billboards and flyers around town, some of which they were hinting at having her face on. Something she had NOT agreed to but Marshal had been putting the pressure on for it. She was the face of the clinic he kept saying.

Timing was everything. Just when she needed to be away from the clinic, that's when she had to be available to do some glad-handing and poster-girl smiles.

She ran through her other emails, making sure there was nothing else pressing that needed taken care of before starting to work on the stack of charts on her desk. They'd been waiting for a while to get completed and could wait longers but it was comforting to focus on work for a while, reviewing the charts and making the necessary notations so that they could be filed appropriately.
