Many of those who play vampires in the SL feel like it is hard to get activity going. One of the reasons for this may be that there is no central leadership. So, we are going to do something unprecedented. We are going to take apps for a Master of the City. From those who apply we will choose the BEST APP for the job. Please note the following requirements before applying for this:
1. You MUST be willing to actively pursue the other vampires in the SL. This means OOC emailing, IMing, and getting play together to bring about vampire interaction. Having the title of MotC is useless to the game unless the player is actively seeking interaction.
2. We do NOT want a MotC who sits and broods moodily and does not talk to people. There are too many characters who do this and a dynamic MotC should not be one of them because this also will be useless to the forward momentum of vampire SLs. So if you are going to make someone make someone who can interact with others.
3. Someone with a unique idea for involvement. This is not a must but it will definitely be a plus! If you come in with a character that has some kind of interesting idea attached that will get interaction going among vamps then that will be given a huge extra point in your favor.
4. Someone who will play by the rules. We don't want someone to be given this gift who will use it to then abuse their position in the game. We are effectively handing out a title here which is something we have not done before in the game, so if you are a player who will make us regret that then please do not apply.
5. You will be around!! If you think you might quit the game, leave town for a month, or anything like that here soon then let this opportunity go to someone else. In the longrun that will be better for everyone.
6. This is not a must but some preference will be shown to those who have only a few currently played characters. If you already play 5 or 6 characters then that will likely lead us to believe your time is limited.
Now for Character Specifics:
1. This will have to be a Master Vampire preferably 500 years or older. If you are apping with someone from a certain period in time please demonstrate to us that you have at least a basic knowledge of the places and times this character has lived in.
2. We would prefer this be a Master Vampire from a less common bloodline simply to give the game more depth.
3. IC the new MotC will be brought in by the Vampire Council which means your first sessions of play will be with the Mod NPCed Vamp Council.
Other than that we don't care if the MotC is a he or a she, good or evil, or what the PB happens to be, though as always we appreciate those who think outside the box and choose a little ethnic diversity so the SL isn't completely white washed (but it isn't a requirement). So put your thinking caps on. We will accept applications for this for a few weeks and work hard to come to a decision on the character we think best fits our priorities then we will announce the "winner".
