To A Sweet Georgia Peach (A Call to Georgia From Maya)

-When Maya woke up that morning she felt like her head had been beaten in with one of Geller's iron skillets.  The first order of business had been coffee and food, which she got at the Hookah.  Then she had to go find where she had left Trent's van before he had a fucking fit about it being missing.  Only after that did she have time to curl up at home and find the card that Miss Georgia Grace had given her.  She wanted to check on the poor drunk woman who Maya vaguely remembered being taken to the hospital by Frank and Theo.  Wondering if she made it there safe, and if she got her stomach pumped Maya dialed the number and waited for the voicemail to pick up.-

"Hey there George.  It's Maya...if you even remember who that is.  You gave me your card last night at the bar.  I was just calling to make sure you're okay.  You looked pretty rough last night.  So.,....uh...if you still want to get together for some shopping just give me a call back. (Phone number included).  Look forward to hearing from you Georgey."

Georgia Grace had a bit of a rough night and morning, if one was to be technical.  Getting her stomach pumped was NOT something the girl wished to have repeated.  Back home when someone passed out, as long as they had a pulse and were breathing alright, you  let them sleep it off.  But she wasn’t back on daddy’s plantation nor was she away at school, where she heard they were stepping up the procedures do to alcohol poisoning.   Not that she was upset with anyone, she went and got herself into a drunk stage, and she knew better.  It just had been a hard month, with her mom missing, and not a trace of anything left behind to give a clue.  The police said not to give up hope, at least to her face, but who wanted to be the one to break it to Georgia that her mom really was gone, weather that was deceased or otherwise no longer her real momma.

A shake of her head as she cleared her thoughts and moved about her room at the plantation, she had snuck in when everyone had been out and about, so she hadn’t been questioned and hopefully she wouldn’t be.  She really needed to talk to Coop again about her ma’s place.  Sitting on the bed, she stilled herself.  By looking at the call log of her voice messages, she knew that the first voice mail was Cooper.  She would save that one for a little bit later, as she listened to the voice mail from the number that did not look familiar to her.  Or rather it did not say, whom it was, like Coopers did.  Pressing the button to hear the voice message her face screwed up.  “George?”  Maybe the person had the wrong number?  Wait no..no it was the girl from the club last night.

She called to let Maya’s phone ring before it went to a voice mail, which was fine, she would just leave a brief message and wait for a tag.  Before laying down and listening to that other voice message.

“Maya, Its Georgia Grace.  I’m sorry I don’t remember to much from last night.  Thanks for calling, and I would LOVE to go shopping with you.  Let me know when a good time for you is.”

-All a twitter with the excitement of George's return call she couldn't believe she missed it.  Though admittedly sometimes it was amazing she ever knew where her phone was.  Dialing back George's number she was kvetching when the voicemail picked up again.  Jesus Christ!  They were apparently just meant to play phone tag.  So Maya tried to leave as much information as possible in her return message lest they spend an eternity in voicemail and never actually get to meet.-

"How about this weekend? I mean, hey George, it's Maya.  If you want to we could meet for brunch this weekend or something and then go check out some of the stores.  I may even have a friend I can bring with who could reaaaaally use some shopping let me tell you.  So if you're up for it let's meet at Brennan's in the Quarter.  I hear they have a great brunch menu.  Say...eleven?  Then you can regail me with tales of the hospital.  Text 1 for yes, 2 for No! See you soon."

-Making little kissy noises Maya hung up the phone and hoped that the message wouldn't just sound like one long sentence.  She had been talking pretty fast after all.  Now she just had to see if her new friend could come, because Sarah could definitely use some new clothes.  Even if she couldn't make it Maya figured she could pick her up a few things. -

After leaving Maya the voice mail she took her nap, then she felt rather icky, and decided she needed a bath.  She would of taken a bath earlier when she got home, but she had needed the sleep, and that had worn out.  Something about falling asleep in the bath when no one was home, didn’t sound to safe to her, and with her luck well, she just didn’t do that.  Having left her phone on the bed when she went into the attached bathroom, she heard the ringing, “Come on Barbie Let’s go Party..ah ah ah….”  Jumping from the tub, almost slipping her feet sliding on the linoleum she put her arms out and somehow caught herself, then she had to find where the towel went, well one of them she had two…grabbing the towel because she didn’t want to grab the phone with wet hands, she moved as quick as she could at the moment, which honestly wasn’t to fast.

By the time she reached the phone the ringing had stopped and it was beeping that she had a voice mail.  “Seriously!” She stood there in the middle of the room, before taking the phone back with her, to the tub.  Noticing the fact that she had just dripped water all across the room, she’d have to try to dry that up later.  Throwing the still dry towel, save for her hand print, back onto the counter top, she sank back into the water.  Using her dry hand she pressed the buttons she needed to before the voice message started to play.

A smile slipped over her features, because the girl sure could talk a lot without taking a breathe.  But the important thing was weekend, brunch, 11.  That didn’t tell her if it was Saturday or Sunday but either way, she had no real plans, that she was aware of.  Flipping the away from her ear but not deleting the message, she would go to her text messages, starting a new one between herself and Maya.  ’1’ but that one looked lonely.  ’See you soon.’  Was added on before it was sent.   Then she tossed the phone onto the carpet, not where it was wet, into the room she was staying in, before enjoying the rest of her bath.
