On his way to the Lycan Clinic to meet Jessica he had time to make a few phone calls. Multi-tasking was a skill he had mastered long ago. An important thing since the list of things to do in his head made every second one that had to be used wisely. Since flying back into New Orleans from his recent job in Biloxi he had been trying to get things on track again. Everything seemed so unorganized with all the mess that had been raining down on peoples heads lately, and there was little Ash hated as much as disorganization.
Sliding through his contact list he pressed on Alex's number and then waited for the BlueTooth device in his ear to pick up the call. When he has seen Alex on the full moon she had looked like she was healing, but painfully thin and hesitant in her actions. That worried him. Ash assumed that she was still staying at the plantation house as Silent had commanded. A command it might be noted that had raised his hackles instantly. Yet he was trying the very best he could to stay out of it and let Silent do what she wanted in regards to her pack. They are not your wolves Ash, he kept reminding himself. Yeah. Keep telling yourself that.
"Alex. It's Ash." The crisp sterness of his British accent softened a voice that was usually so dry you could spread butter on it. That was just Ash, the way he talked showing the core inside where the Dark Passenger resided.
"I just got back in town from serving a warrant." Which of course in his job meant he had just gotten back from killing something and cutting it to pieces or possibly burning it to a crisp. Yeah. He loved his job. "I just wanted to check on you love. Are you still out at Silent's plantation house?"
The phone going off next to her ear had Alex jumping, and nearly tumbling off the couch where she'd be laying. Grabbing it, she couldn't help but grin, at name that had popped up. It was weird how the people that were on your mind always seemed to know, and would call or get in contact in some way. Her frustration levels were going up, the longer she was at Silent's plantation. While she loved Silent, and loved being close to her, and doing what needed to be done to learn to control what was changing in her, there was one glaring thing that made her want to hit something....or in this case, some one...
Ever since meeting him at the full moon, Danny had become a constant pain in her ass. The two wolves butting heads at almost every turn, and Alex starting to get fed up with the little shit. The latest spat was what had her holed up in the den with the door closed... Or rather having been slammed in frustration. Damn pup thought he knew fucking everything and was throwing his power around at every turn. Trying to prove how big and bad he was. And had Alex been in normal physical condition, and in a better state physically and mentally, she might have shown the pup just how wrong his misconceptions were.
"Alex. It's Ash."
Alex's stress levels lowered at just hearing that accented voice that with most other people, was so dry and crisp, and seemed to soften when talking to her, or a few choice other people. She didn't know why, but she wasn't going to question it either.
"Hey." Came the happy response. Listening as he told her about getting back from serving a warrent. She knew what Ash did for a living. At times she even envied that he got to do it.
"I just wanted to check on you love. Are you still out at Silent's plantation house?"
That got a nod of her head before she remembered that he couldn't see her response, nor could he hear her head rattle. "Yeah. She wants me to stay for awhile, till we can figure out this whole munin thing..." Normally slender hand came up to rub over her face, and she closed her eyes, fingers sliding up to thread through hair the color of cornsilk.
"...m'not sure i like this ability....." The new power was fucking with her, and she didn't like it. It didn't help that the one messing with her the most was the one that had tormented her so badly at the end of his life, and made her so much of how she was.
Shakeing it off, she opened her eyes, studying the ceiling above her. "the new guy, Danny, isn't making things any either either...." Shakeing her head, she sat up, legs crossing indian style under her. "I was gonna head over to the house later. Start in on the basement so we can get it set up as a place for training and shit...Wanna help me? "
Figured it'd be a good idea for him to help out with it, since he'd be the one in charge of training Laney at least, and once she asked, hopefully Alex too.
