-Maya totally needed a job. She was going slowly out of her mind having nothing to do until school started in the Fall. The newspaper had turned up a couple of job openings but nothing that suited her. Working at a theatre or a gun range wasn't for her. Sure she would love to be a burlesque dancer but Geller would probably never let her do it no matter what Dita said. Well, if Zoe ever got out of bed she might go with her and audition for fun but in the meantime she needed a serious job prospect.-
-Frustrated she had crumpled up the job section of the paper and thrown it away with a muttered curse. Then, just before complete lack of hope settled in, she remembered that she knew someone who owned her own business. Why hadn't she thought of it before? It was perfect! Dialing the number for Jenna that she'd gotten from Geller she waited for the woman to come on the line. Once Jenna answered Maya spoke to her all in a rush.-
"Jenna! Ohmigod. So, is there any chance that you need someone to work the front desk at Paix? Cause I really really need a fucking job and it would be really fun and you can gush at me about Geller and I swear to Christ I won't even cuss in front of customers at all. And I can totally do this job I swear and so will you hire me? Huh? Will you?"
The stream of words that hit Jenna's ears with all the energy of the bubble gum pink beauty made her start laughing. She couldn't help it. Right there, in the middle of Paix, with Valen holding his comb and scissors aloft, and Daphne pausing with her file in her hand, Jenna was laughing like a loon.
"Yes! Of course! I'd love to have you run the front desk. I do it most of the time, just because everyone's so busy, but if you'd like you can start as soon as possible. Get your lovely butt down here and I can show you the phone, appointment program and the whole lot of it!"
Something about Maya, made Jenna want to laugh and talk, and shop. Unusual, but true. When she hung up the phone, she turned to look at Valen and Daphne. She tipped up her nose, composed herself and made a 'tch' noise with her tongue.
"Just you wait, you'll see soon enough..." Maya was enough to make even those two crack a smile.
-Jenna didn't have to tell her twice. Maya said something that could have been goodbye, or might have been just a mumbled rush and then she was hanging up the phone. Grabbing her purse and sliding a pair of flip flops onto her feet she headed out of the house. Finally! She had a job! That meant she could go shopping more, go out more, and hopefully meet some people who didn't already live in her house. Maya would head straight over to Paix to learn the ropes from Jenna and torment Valen with every spare ounce of her bubbly energy.-
