::The night had embraced her like a lover. She sat out on her patio bathing in the moonlight. Skin pale as the moon itself nearly glowed in the light. Most of the city lights blocked the stars that glittered in that dark velvet sky. Lips parted to release a sigh. Fingers clasped around the mug of tea that had gone cold while she stood outside. Cypress didn't know how long she had been standing there. All she knew was that she needed to get away from her computer. There had been answers to her posting, some were interesting enough, others were simply disgusting. Some had nude pictures of men without their faces, others were just disturbing on all levels. She had no one to blame but herself on this one.
Honestly all day she had but given up and almost wanted to take down the posting. A sip from her mug. Green tea didn't taste as good when it went cold. Stepping back into the studio apartment, she placed the mug in the sink when she heard the reminder that she had mail waiting. A frown edged the corners of her pouty baby doll mouth. She hoped it was not more nude photos, or of men asking if she wanted sex. Once more she reminded herself that she had no one else to blame for what she had posted.
Opening the e-mail she noticed the handle on it embracingthedark. A brow rose ever so lightly. Perhaps, this one wasn't going to be a shame. Of course it could be one of those gothic people hoping to be turned by a vampire or some such thing. There had been a few of those already. A double click of her mouse opened the e-email.
"Greetings, miss single female. My name is Will Bennett, and I'd be interested in meeting you. I find your ad to be intriguing, and I'd love to hear more. You may reach me back at embracingthedark@notarealemaileither.com"
It was short and right to the point. Nothing like the other e-mails she had received through out the day. Fingers moved over the keys on her keyboard as she typed out:
"Greetings, Mr. Will Bennett. My name is Cypress. I am glad that you find my ad intriguing. Perhaps we can set a time and place to meet. Would you possibly free on (date can be discussed between muns)? If not, let me know when you are free to meet."
Cypress closed the letter with just her name. Most would and should have been scared to meet a complete stranger. Most, were not her. She had the speed and strength to take care of herself. Cypress however would be on guard as she always was. This meeting perhaps would not turn out where she would need to use all her supernatural gifts.::
He had a habit of being out of the ordinary, and different from the norm. Such a thing carried on into what he had become since the altercations back in England. When the response to his email came, he returned to the computer, and pulled it up.
"Cypress, hmm. Interesting name," he'd say softly to himself. He'd type up a response, with a slight grin.
"The time sounds good. Now, the place. I am admittedly still rather new to town, so where would you like to go?" He knew nothing of the places around town, though he had heard a few names tossed about. "I have heard of a place called The Aerie, and been to a quiet little place called The Hookah." He of course had some ideas on the Hookah, especially since he had met with those that resided there often, so it seemed. Perhaps that was not the place to be suggesting.... So, he backspaced and took that part out. "Any ideas of your own?"
He hit send, and began searching through local hot spots in the city as he waited for a response.
:: Sitting at the computer she thought a while looking at the new e-mail from Mr. Will Bennett. They had set up a time, but not a meeting place. Since she was also fairly new to town she didn't know many places. Once of which she would never enter unless there was some extreme dire need to be there. The Aerie, he had suggested seemed as good as any other place.
"The Aerie seems fine. I have not been there yet. I came into town not to long ago myself. I will be there at the time we discussed. I have long dark hair and about five foot two."
She signed this e-mail as she did the last with a simple Cypress at the end.::
