A package had been left at the front desk of PAIX, one which was clearly at the wrong address. and currently in the hands of the wild haired Simba. The young lion had the box in his hands, barely able to even read the label before the nosey Kitsune had seemingly just appeared. He always seemed to be right around a corner or jumping out of the shadows, scaring the poor lion half to death most of the day. The lion did not even get a chance to read off the package label before the short, raven haired asian stole it out of his hands. "Were all out of Vodka, I will have you know." Probably becuase he drank it all, but that was neither here or their.
With the new 'present' in Kaikou's hands, the fox threw all care to the wind of who the box really belonged to and carried it in his arms toward the elevator. Once inside the safety of Jenna's and his apartment, sitting atop of PAIX, the asian did finally start to open the box. Jumping on the couch and prying the top of the box open, he blinked those dragon green eyes at the vials of blood. "Whats this, strawberry juice?" Letter unfolded, the fox tapped his leg a little, thinking. Finally a vial unpopped at the top so he could sniff at it, the strong scent went right to his head and he went a little wide eyed. "Wow, this would be good in a drink, I think." He gave it another sniff, wrinkling his nose. "Kin-Jin blood...interesting.."The top capped once again, the fox dropping it all back inside. Carefully he sealed the box against with the tape and looked at the address. "Hmmm, I think I should be a friendly neighborly anicient Japanese spirit and say..hello."
The fox was walking back out of the elevator from his apartment in no time, though a black hoodie on and a pair of baggy levi pants with those red sneakers Jenna bought him. He sent a grin back toward the Lion as he walked out the doors. "Remember to get me more Stolichnaya and ill make you more white russians." He made every cat a white russian, it was hard to tell if he was being a jerk or just trying to be nice. Maybe both. Kaikou was going to deliver the package to the neighbor and try to make new freinds.
The package was taken so swiftly from the young lion's hands that he made a quick screeching sound, then twirled, comb in the hand that rested at his hip. He watched the fox leave, and curled his upper lip. Smug bastard.
Next thing he knew as he was teasing the hair of the woman in his chair, Kaikou was strolling back through, wandering outside? That made Valen's curiosity pique. He went to the window to see where the fox was going, fingers separating the blinds, nose poked through to watch. His neck craned, he hmphed and let the blinds snap back into place.
He went back to what he was doing, Jenna came down and an argument ensued on the vodka demand, then the tigress was out the door and racing away in her car. That left just Valen knowing where Kaikou was, and damnit to fucking hell, he felt responsible for keeping an eye on the fox, though he likely didn't need it at all.
He gestured to one of the girls to take his place in finished the woman's hair, stood slapping the comb on his palm a few moments, then just sighed, swept out the door in a flourish and headed down the street in the direction that Kaikou went.
The steps up toward the address tapped lightly as the young asian walked. The cement broken and worn by age, not to mention a few odd stains. The alleyway was well hidden, leading in to a large loft building. The kitsune was wearing that black hoodie with a graphic fox art across the back, a orange and black fox holding a pink petal on its nose. Little did Kaikou know that he had a stalker hot on his heels. The lion was not too far behind, but he would be far too late to stop what would happen.
Kaikou's hood was up and over his head, his bare hand rapping knuckles against the door frame and he waited quietly for something. Music could be heard from inside with ease, he could hear several inside, but did not know an exact number, not from outside at least. The door opened to a large man in a collared shirt, though tattoos rolling down the mans neck and arms. Bricks tattooed under his right eye. "What do you want China?" The fox was smiling beneath his hoodie and he held the case up a little. "Oh I got this package by mistake, you know, those damn messangers and their ignorance. I think this belongs to you." The man was going wide eyed as he looked at the box in the small asians arms. The door opened wider to anoter man stepping out, both giants compared to Kaikou.
"Hey, yeah that is ours. Thanks for bringing it by." The second man said with a smile, he offered up his arms to take the box from Kaikou. The kitsune grinned and he dropped the box in his arms. The two were about to step back inside, before Kaikou pulled out a red vial he had pocketed from the box. "You know, I hate to ask, but I really couldnt resist peeking inside. Exactly what is this for, eh? Paint me ignorant, I'm from Japan actually." Kaikou dangled the vial from his hand, still grinning. The two men were still attempting to handle this quietly, as they looked at what they thought was a kid and their stuff. "Listen kid, you dont want no trouble from us. Give us back whats ours and maybe will cut you in on some of it, eh?" The other man started to reach behind his back, grabbing the handle of a pistol. "Whats it for, I mean, I really don't know." The two men glanced at eachother, before speaking agian. "Oh its for ,you know, some medical stuff." They were hoping the asian was truely this ignorant and did not have a lick of street sense. Kaikou nodded his head a few times and dropped the vials in the others hand. They checked the package, all of them accounted for. "Oh well, good luck with that then." The door was slammed shut on the fox and he tilted his head.
A minute passed before the door knocked again. The man looked out the peep hole, but given Kaikou's size, all he could see was the top of his hood. The door flung open and the man started to pull a weapon from his back. "Listen you fucking zipper head, ill fu.." he stopped half way through his speech, slowing and cutting off as he looked down at the asian, wearing that mask, the mask of a kitsune. "I think you lied to me, filthy monkey mortal." The man went for his back pocket, half through the effort of pulling out his weapon, when Kaikou acted. It was fast, too fast for the mortals to see with their naked eyes. The Ebony Wazikashi came from behind Kaikou, the weapon neatly tucked and trapped to his backside. Its black and golden edge rending the man from his throat, down collar bone and ribcage. The he tumbled in to the door, shaking on the ground, with his blood pouring in torrents across the steps. Screams erupted from inside the building, but screams is all anyone would hear and only barely inside that alleyway. It was a well chosen spot, for bad things to happen..
Very bad things. She hissed. It was the screams she heard first, then the tang of blood tickled at her nostrils, after the distinct noise of bone and cartilage being destroyed. Her stomach tightened. He was using Wazikashi. Blood normally heated ran cold, as her legs kicked her into high gear. A blur and Jenna was skittering around the corner, into the alleyway and up the stairs to the door.
She saw Valen standing in a state of snarling surprise, unsure whether to strike or defend. She pushed the lion aside, then pushed the door, allowing it to creak open so she could take in the scene. The man on the floor was seizing in pain and shock, the crimson soaking the already dirty carpet in a macabre, yet fitting end, to a seedy filthy way of life.
She spoke in Kitsune-Go. A language Kaikou taught her over time. She told him that while it was justice, it was not sanctioned by the authorities. Then she said his name, "Kaikou..."
Few understood what happened when an old one like her fox became enraged. Not even Jenna herself had ever seen it in full. She'd tasted its power, felt the chill that came when he transitioned into that mode. This could cause them great trouble. She glanced up and around, taking count of the men in the room.
Great, and she really liked what she was wearing.
Two of the men were going for Kaikou, she grabbed the nearest by the neck, squeezed with a low growl, pressing into his trachea until his air was cut off. When she felt him go limp, she released him so he could slump to the floor. Then she turned to her fox. Feet apart, eyes pure purple, her voice was becoming purring, an emphasis on her 'r's.
She repeated in Kitsune-Go what she said prior, adding that they should go. Now.
Did Kaikou understand the trouble that he was causing right now? He did not. Would he of cared if he did, most likely not. The humans were ants, little pests to be used, devoured and forgotten. Not a shread of compassion was being felt, not even when Jenna appeared to his 'aid'. The man closest to him had decided that fleeing for his life would be better. The fox thought differently. Right in front of Jenna, the kitsune methodically jumped and came down upon the mans backside. The blade running through his back and spilling blood across the ground. He danced around the man, slashing the weapon along his face and down his jaw line. As he began to fall, the fox caught him by the collar of his short. He held the man, as he squirmed in his grip, bleeding all over the ground and down the foxes hand. "Why the mercy? Their just rodents, something to toy with and kill." Their was no rage from the kitsune, no anger. Infact, he was..enjoying himself.
She was worried and wanted to leave. Her use of the language was still new, but the fox understood her well. He shook his head. "Worried of more? Worried of ants? I worry not. Dishonorable filth like this deserve nothing less, they should feel a great amount of respect when they enter the corrupted halls of the Yomi realm. They died at the hands of a fine instrument, weilded by a true warrior, of an age mostly forgotten." He was in front of Jenna before in a split, on top of the man she had only incapacitated. The blade went down and through the back of his neck, ensuring he would not be a survivor in this. There was barely a drop fo blood on Kaikou, though the sword was wet from the carnage. He swung it outward, spraying blood across the wall. From his left hand, he wiped the blade with a silk cloth, then it was placed back where it belong behind himself. "Now we may leave." No hurry from the kitsune as he walked out of the room and began to return back out the way of the alley.
Jenna was livid. She followed Kaikou out, grabbing Valen by the shirt and dragging him along with them as they made their way back to Paix. Kaikou had no idea what he had just accomplished. It was a matter that she could not even begin to explain to him. He threatened their way of life, their very existence, and did not listen to one word she said.
She tried to mesh the facts in her mind. Kaikou was old, he was used to a form of justice meted out by those whom he led. This was not the Oita lands, this was not a place he could safely do that without repercussions.
Releasing Valen so he could go splash cold water on his face or whatever the fuck the lion did when he was caught between the need to act and the inability to do so. She went directly to the third floor, the elevator swishing open just as she walked through looking for the kitsune.
She breathed. Several times. She closed her eyes and did so again.
When they opened, the teal found her fox and she went to him, lowering to sit on the sofa, her hands clasped together.
"It is not that I believe they were worth saving. It is not that I believe they did not deserve such a death. I am a killer, I understand that sometimes it is the best choice. In this case, however, you put us at risk. If there is any evidence tracing what just happened to us, it will be bad, Kaikou. Executions should be handled with immaculate attention to detail and location. That was poor detail, poor location, Kaikou...."
She put a hand through the blonde hair and gripped it, letting it fall as her head raised to watch him.
Kaikou did not understand what the fuss was about. He didnt know just what sort of trouble he just caused and how police could be swarming all over the place. Though, if the crime goes unnoticed long enough, no doubt the ones in the smuggling operation would find everything first and take care of things. The fox didnt care though, but he did care that Jenna was angry.
He felt more out of place then ever now, as Jenna tried to explain that he couldnt do that. The kitsune frowned some as he stared back at her. "I'm sorry..for causing you trouble." Sorry for killing? No, he could never apologise for killing an insect.
He decided to leave the subject alone and to return back to his haven, to begin the slow process of cleaning the weapon that had been fed flesh and blood this eve.
"It isn't just me, Kaikou, it's you! It could be trouble for you as well! And I can't protect you easily if something happened...." She threw up her hands and stood, brushing her hand back over her forehead. For the love of all that was sacred...she seemed to have lost the ability to communicate with her fox. It was incredibly frustrating.
She watched him go to attend to his rituals, and that only made her more frustrated. So she simply stepped back into the elevator, walked through Paix, out onto the street, and disappeared into the crowd.
She could get lost too if she needed to and right now, she needed to. Badly. How could she tell him this was not Japan, it was not the secluded Oita lands, things were not the same. He gave all that up to come here, to be with her, and she was finding it her greatest challenge in helping him assimilate.
She knew in her bones he was confused about it all, that his only concern was her upset. She gave a wry laugh, drawing a strange look from one of the people near her. She kept walking until she found a bar, and into it she went.
She would sit, she would drink, and then she would go home...and try again.
