Shopping for the lonely (Open)

Chocolate eyes stared blankly at the dress she was holding up in front of her body before a floor length mirror. The usually exuberant french girl was just going through the motions. After all, what was there left to do? The house her cousin had established for everyone had been as silent as the grave, as of late. She didn't know what was going on, but everyone had seemed to have just disappeared. Oh, there were tell-tale signs of life, that people were still coming and going, but most of the time it was just plain quiet.

Zoe missed her friends, Venus and Maya the most, even Geller. Then there was the little vampire, Nike, that stayed in her secluded garage, even she had been absent of late, and the french girl could not help but wonder what exactly had been going on in the world around her that she'd missed. Had there been subtle undercurrents of unhappiness that had just forced everyone to walk away and abandon it all? She wasn't sure, but she didn't like the loneliness that had pervaded her being.

Even Crius and his twin brother had been seemingly beyond her reach. Of course, things had been so different after the night of the masquerade. She still couldn't remember the events of that night for the life of her. Though sometimes, she had flashes of it in her dreams. Disturbing images that haunted her, left her trembling and frozen inside when she awoke. What had happened? And more importantly, why couldn't she remember? Had the twins done something to her to make her forget, like they had in New York?

Trying to push the thought away her eyes focused on her image in the mirror and she frowned, disgustedly throwing the dress into a lounge chair next to her. The dress she'd been unknowingly eyeing was hideous. Her lips twisted into a sardonic smile and she turned her head, her lithe form moving towards the rack of clothing in the expensive boutique. She found something there, more to her liking, a dress made of violet silk, with shimmering beads that lined the rather low revealing bodice. Lucky for her it was in her size!

Turning on her heel, she went up to the front of the shop and paid for her purchase before making a hasty exit. The sun had slipped away while she'd been dawdling, and the colors of dusk were fading quickly into night, not that it worried her. Though, as she scanned the streets wondering which direction she should take, Zoe faltered. She didn't want to go home to that big lonely house. Heaving a huge sigh, she hitched the bag up on her arm an turned left. It didn't matter where she wandered, at this point, anything would be better than being alone. Besides, maybe she could find a raging bar or a wild party and find some trouble to get into?

Whiskey was window shopping most night she would stay home watching reruns of old shows since she was a nerd like that. But tonight she was restless she needed to get out and get some fresh air. So pushing herself up off that couch of hers in her apartment she would slide on a pair of crop pants and a shimmering top. Blonde hair was piled up on top of her head. Sliding on a pair of flip flops. Then her bag before heading out the door onto the streets below her apartment building.

Turning to her right she would make her way down the street not walking anywhere special she was just walking for the hell of it. Then would turn a corner to run right into a lady with a shopping bag . Her hands would reach out to try to catch the women so she didn't fall to the ground. But failing horrible as they would both go falling to the ground.
