Alex managed to get to the bus station shortly before the bus itself did, and he waited, doing his best to ignore the crowds of people. He'd texted Karma again to let her know his hair was black (its natural color), just so she wouldn't try to find him by seeking out a bright red head. He was kind of thinking of dying it back though, or maybe some other color. He hadnt' decided yet. He tried not to fidgit too much, actually kind of really excited to see her... he'd kinda missed her, even if they hadn't gotten to know each other all that well before she up and disappeared like that.
Anyway, he stood there in jeans and a t-shirt with a hoodie on though it was unzipped. He'd been pretty happy to find that in the car, despite the New Orleans heat. Didn't bother him. His beast kind of poked its nose out, looking for Karma's while he fidgited with the cuffs on the hoodie.
When the speakers gave the crackly annoucement that they had arrived and the florecent lights flickered to life Karma would push one of those now bleach blond dreadlocks from her face. Smilin shily at the large woman who sat beside her. God she was happy to be done with this ride from hell. all she wanted was to sit in a hot shower for years to wash away the horrid stench from the ride. Grabbing her back she would fall into the cattle shuffle off the bus...Those dark eyes searchin the crowd for Alex... Having to admit that she had actually missed him...Spottin the rat she would make for him...Camo pants and a black tank top. Not her normal choice of dress...But nawlins was hot as hell this time of year. 'ALEX!' Karma would squealed as she made a b line for him. half tempted to copy those girls running at their boyfriends
Well, even if Karma didn't run at him he'd still grab her into a hug as soon as she got close. Okay maybe he should feel weird hugging this person that he kind of barely knew, but that wasn't the point because he'd actually missed her. He hugged her tight, noticing, briefly, that her hair was a different color too.
"Hey," he murmured, closing his eyes for a second. It felt... really good to be around another rat. One that wasn't Theo, anyway. He pulled back a little bit, face warm. "Uhm, missed you. So are you all ready to go?" And as soon as Karma said yes, he took her hand so they could go back out to the car and go the hell home and away from all these people.
It was werid huggin someone...And not feeling the need to whore bathe in a bottle of germ x. Taking a deep breath she would lean closer into the hug. Nuzzling against his cheek. That naked beast within movin closer to Alexs. Long fingers toying with the bit of hair that poked out from under the hood of his hoodie. Tiltin her head she would smile lopsidedly. "Looks good...Ive missed you too." Stepping back she would pull her duffle bag up on her shoulder again. "Yes please lets get out of her. I dont think Lycanthropes should ever ride greyhound." She would loop her arm around his. The last month without the comfort of another rat...Was maddening. More so then her drive from Cali to New Orleans.At least...Well she didnt want to think about the rat she had a feeling shed never see again. "Has my King showed up again..Hows Theo? Hows the band going?"
Alex smiled and his beast nuzzled against Karma's, leaning against the weird naked rat. He tipped his head down while she touched his hair. "Thanks. Figured maybe it was time to go natural for a little while. Maybe."
When they got to the car he put Karma's bag in the back and even opened her door for her. Then he climbed in himself and got the AC blasting as soon as it was started.
"Not a lot of word from Milo, but I think he's still around, you know? And Theo's... he's pretty good, I think. The band's great. We've been playing at this place, Karma, you gotta come sometime. You can even like... hide back stage if you really want to." So she didn't have to be in with the crowd.
A small lopsided smile moved over her lips. "I like it...Im sure Milo's round still too...At least from what Ive heard from whats left of the rodere." Small talk..that was the key. Thats the way not to let ur nerves get the best of ya. Those nearly complely black eyes moved over her friend. weird how a random in counter in a bar had led to a new friend... But had her meetin w Tommy any different? A small sad sigh at the thought of the lab rat..She missed him too. Maybe she would take a trip to nyc to see him. Mummblin a small thanks when he opened the door she would hop in pullin the seatbelt tight n close to her..."i think id like that...your show n stuff.Though i...I dont think Ive heard ya music." Though she may have. Fidgetin in her seat she would watch him. Yup he was as cute as she remembered. Weird. He was like her too...All ..different. Chewing on her bottom lip...She would think for a moment...Before leaning closer and kissing his cheek...Quickly movin back close to the door..."sorry...kinda"
"Well, if you decide you don't like the music you can just watch me be weird on stage," he said with a dorky kind of grin. "And I think I totally put you in one of my comics, so like... yeah."
Alex shrugged and got them on the road, just as Karma decided to kiss his cheek. He smiled a little. "Don't be," he said when she kinda apologized. "Glad you're back, Karma. Uhm, you can like, have the bed if you want, or the couch. I haven't cleaned it yet, but I could."
There were still a few piles of laundry on it, but he could sleep on the couch and Karma could have the bed, he didn't mind either way. Or maybe they could give her Theo's room and Theo could sleep downstairs with him... Yeah, no, that wouldn't work. Theo would go nuts.
