Finally, knowing if Anyone had noticed she was gone, it was probably Laney, as the two had gotten to be fairly good friends before all of this happend. Plus she had a feeling Helix would have pestered the fuck out of anyone in the house, and most likely Laney, as she was the one he liked best besides his mistress. So the call to the little pup was given, and she waited once more. Again getting a voice mail (did nobody answer their phones anymore???) and left a message.
"Laney, it's Alex. I'm ok...I had some...problems. I'll tell you when I see you. Call me back at this number. I need a ride back to the house...... Um...Is Helix ok? never mind. I'll talk to you when I see you or you call back or whatever..talk soon...."
Alex hung up, and rubbed a hand over her face. Curling up once more, she dozed off to sleep. Still exausted as hell.
The annoying sound of her phone beeping at her, shrilly trying to tell her she had a voicemail had one eye pop open. A frown crossed her features as a hand sleepily moved for the phone with every intention of throwing it across the room or smashing it into a million pieces on her floor. That was of course until she saw that the number was an unknown number.
Who the hell would be calling her at this hour of the night. More than that, who the fuck had her phone number? Grumbling mutely under her breath she sat up and pressed the button to call back her voicemail and put an end to this mystery. When she heard Alex's voice every muscle in her body tensed and she started swearing harsher than any sailor could ever dream. Jumping out of the bed roused Helix, as the mutt had taken to sleeping in her room since Alex's disappearance and the dog gave a loud bark before she shushed him, pulling on a pair of shorts and a tank top to cover her state of undress.
Immediately after she hung up the phone she dialed the number back waiting as it rang and ran, getting a voicemail herself. Her voice was slightly muffled as she nearly growled into the phone. "Alex! Where the fuck are you!? Glad you're ok, and yeah, Helix is doing alright, though the lummox hasn't given me a moment's peace sine you've been gone! Call me back and tell me where you are. I'll come get ya! I don't care if I gotta steal the truck or whatnot. Ok, talk to ya soon." With that she hung up, and waited.
wakeing up to see the light blinking on Titus's answering machine, she hit the button out of habbit, and grinned, hearing Laney all growly and shit. It made her feel better just to hear that. Calling back, she waited till the girl answered, and responded with, "You know you could have just locked him out.....but then he'd have woken up the whole house..." Threading fingers through her hair, she closed her eye's again. "I'm at a friends place. Not even sure how the hell i got here, or where I'm at really." Looking around, she found a peice of old mail, and rattled off the address to her friend.
"Might wanna ask Ash first...." The name came out in a rush. "Don't want him getting pissed cause it's gone."
The next time the phone rang, Laney was quick to answer it, haze eyes widening in relief when she heard Alex's voice on the other end of the line. "God damnit! You've given me a fright! Where the hell have you been?! Don't answer that! I'm sure there will be enough time for that later." When she took a moment to breathe, she heard Alex's quip about locking Helix out and a scowl marred her features for a moment.
"Exactly, I didn't feel like having whiney, scratchy dog at my door all night long. But he's well enough. I think missing you something fierce, but I've tried to keep him busy." As the other woman started to talk about being at a friend's yet not knowing where, a dark brow furrowed. She waited, listening impatiently until Alex found a pice of mail with an address and then grabbed a pen, writing the info down on her arm. "Got it!"
Jumping to her feet, a grin split her face when she was told she might want to ask Ash first, and she even gave a sarcastic giggle. "You know, it's usually better to beg forgiveness than ask permission. But I'll leave a note to try and appease everyone."
The spunky wolf was already running down stairs with silent footfalls in the complete darkness of the house, not wanting to turn on lights and wake the others up. Even in the absence of light, she was able to scribble a quick note and stick it to the fridge before finding the keys to the truck and slipping out the back door. "Nope, didn't see the head man in charge...." Not that she had looked all that hard either, "So, I'm on my way, chica."
