-Ringing Zack's phone, he missed that dude more than he'll ever know. Owen stood in his living room, just got home from work. What he wanted to do was make a present for him, sealing the friendship between leopard and a new wolf. Zack will probably be happy to hear he's got a gift coming by delivery to the place he was staying. Did any of those guys thought they was going to continue keeping a friend from him for very long? Friends stuck like glue didn't they? The good doctor waited for the phone to pick up. Hopefully, Zach can update him on what has happened. -
'It's all a bunch of bullshit I just don't get right now. I'm sure they'll tell me more as I go along. At least, I can hope.'
Zack was sitting at the little desk he'd bought a few days ago, trying to make amendments to his journal. It was odd that he actually liked writing in it, but he just didn't get many chances to write anything. There were way to many gaps in it, and he needed to start filling it all in. The phone in his pocket started to vibrate in the middle of one of his sessions, and he was a little sluggish in getting it out and open.
His voice was a little soft when he addressed the person on the other line. “Yeah? It's Zack.”
Hearing his voice, hearing it of all things really did made him aware he is not in any mortal danger or none like. Oh, Owen never went into hysterics he just figured that Zach was in good hands. If he was hurt in anyway, his leopard within will find the culprits then give them a piece of his mind. Owen could deal with or without anyone in his corner. He's lived off without no other of his fellow leopards nor anyone else for that matter. No stronger wereleopard ever provided any shelter for him. He was happy for Zach, he truly did. "Zack? It's me...Owen. How are you bud?"He called to check upon him, most importantly he wanted to just hear his voice of all things cause it was close to being there with him..when in reality he wasn't.
Shifting around in his little computer chair, Zack's ears perked up when he heard Owen on the other line. “...Owen?” Holy hell, it had been a while since these two had talked. “Hey, man! Yeah, I'm doing fine.” His voice picked back up to it's normal self again, too. The leopards voice seemed to be a soothing balm in his ears. “What's up, babe? You never write, you never call, I thought we broke up or somethin'.” Ahh, back to his old self again, joking around where it wasn't appropriate. Because, hey, why the hell not. “So what's up with you?”
He laughed, it was rare when he did. As the sound of his laughter died down, he figured Zach was thinking of him after all. Glad to know the soon-to be wolf would not have forgotten Owen Connors existed somewhere in that mind of his while surrounded by new people including the wolves he was going to be taken care of and raised. Still, he was a submissive kitten with small claws, but those claws were sharp enough to render someone's nice carpet. Give him a scratch post anyday, he'll curl on his back with his paws extended and claws to extend from his digits. It took him longer to express it, the feeling of relief. "Hey! I would have thought you called me Zach. I did not want to interfere knowing there are people taking care of you now."He did not mention the gifts, not yet. One which he is no doubt probably going to love him for it the minute he gets it on the doorstep. Should he keep it quiet or tell him he has a delivery along the way? In a minute, he wanted to speak when it was time.
He had also had all the results he had strenously been working on in the last amount of days right after the crew took Zach away and he walked but deep down his heart was empty without Zach to fulfill it. What he did was..he been also constructing something that should help so if Zach is far from him he wouldn't be constantly allowing his sub-consciousness to keep berating him about the first day(actually, the second time) he met the man, there was one part of him that will always be there even the man's walls crumbled and people betrayed him, Owen was a keeper and it showed from how he expressed their friendship to the point what he wouldn't do for Zach was he'll no doubt climb mountains if it meant letting him see he will never forsake him. Loyalty was one trait he's never lost touch, if he failed him or upset him he knew Zachary will let him know and try to do better. He has only gotten to know him a tad bit, but soon he'll have room to take Zachary places with just the two of them, let him have a marvelous times and no doubt a few laughs was in too. Laughter itself was the greatest of medicines, Owen was already planning it though he knows Zach was busy, very busy.
The laughter on Owen's end of the line was infectious, and it had Zack laughing along as well. Why hadn't he tried to get a hold of the leopard before now? It had been hectic, sure, but he still had a bit of free time. Possibly the stress of the move and everything that was happening to him. Well, no use in worrying about it, now that they were talking again. “No, no! You wouldn't have interfered with anything, Owen!”
Zack stood up from his chair, running around his room to find his wallet and pack of cigarettes. “In fact, I've got a bit of free reign around here, at least when nothin's going on. So what the hell are we sitting around talking on the phone for? We should totally meet up somewhere and get lunch or something.” Unless there was something drastic going on that needed his attention, Zack doubted that Owen would say no to the request.
A small, pigeon just flew past his window and his inner feline watched it through the paned glass. Cars were honking their horns as they drove on the road of New Orleans. Night, this is the time when the adventurous one became so much active. Lifting the pane upward, his inhuman strength would have rattled the latch off it's hinges not to mention shatter glass and broke wood. Several years of training aided when to know his strength. Holding the phone up to his right ear, hearing the invitation coming from Zack. He could use some grub, it's been a long day and he was a bit sweaty. There was interest, Owen happily agreed to meet him. "Sure, we can meet up and go have dinner."It was supper time, around eight o clock. Food for thought was exactly what they needed. "If we still have time after that, want to go to the matinee? "Matinee' as in the movies, Owen always calls it that and he liked his choice of words. "I have a lot to talk about when we find us a table then Zack. So, where would you like to meet?"Anxious wasn't he? He was acting like some kid looking at all the selection of all the toys in a large toy store. That's when Owen did not have to go all beastly like he did during his time staying at Zach's side when he came to be available as no true doctor leaves a patient behind, no matter who they are.
“Aww, now you're invitin' me to dinner and a movie? I didn't know you still felt that way about me, doc.” Zack continued to laugh on his end of the phone, thankful that the man that had helped him through the difficult time after the attack was still wanting to keep tabs and help out. It really drove it into the pups head that he wasn't alone in his new world. “I'm not sure what movies are out right now, but I think I'm feelin' Chinese for dinner. Whacha think, sound good?” Going anywhere to hang out with the leopard sounded like a great idea right now, but Zack had a huge craving for General Tao's chicken at the moment, and an all you can eat buffet sounded like just the thing.
Date him? He snorted over the phone letting him hear the mock yeah right attitude. "Mr. Zachary. EHarmony is out of date. No connection nor perfect matches between us is compatible."He failed at imitating the host of that EHarmony commercial, but it was to give a few laughs trying to manage the old man's accent. Dinner and movie, but then he can see what is playing at the movies in the newspaper he was going to bring with him. Rolling a yesterday's paper, he now finished what he was going to say after Zachary finished. "I am fine with that. Cannot go wrong with Chinese food Zach, you're awesome. Let me take a shower here, then put some decent clothes on."Routine of his, besides his armpits smelt like a muskox. No can do to meet Zack in this condition. Yech. He can feel the large kitten on the middle level of his metaphysical ladder which means he can sense the powerful effects that the full moon was giving off. Owen's mood shifted at this rate, know what happened the last time? He maybe a doctor, but he also sported a set of nice rosetta marks which was much darker. He waited for Zach to complete their phone conversation from here.
After finally finding his hoodie and a fresh pack of cigarettes, Zack was almost sprinting through the house to the door. He didn't have his own form of transportation yet, but there was a pretty good Chinese restaurant just a few blocks from there. With any luck, he'd be there just a little before Owen. “Oh of course, gotta make yourself look and smell all pretty, don't ya?” On his way out, he yelled to anyone who may have been listening “Headin' out with Owen, I'll be back soon!”
With that done, he turned his attention back to Owen. “I'll shoot you a text with the address of the restaurant here in a second, it ain't to far. I figure you'll take a while workin' on your nails or somethin' like that, so I'll just meet you there.” Once the call was ended, Zack sent a text to Owen with the the street address (at least, as far as he could remember) and started his trek over.
