Kota could hardly sit still. glancing at the cardboard box that sat next to her, she grinned, reaching in, and strokeing the inhabitants, giggling when they swatted playfully at her hand. Yes. They. Having already had the conversation with Theo about the prospect of getting a kitten, Dakota had finally found exactly what she was looking for in the classifieds of the newspaper. I mean, how often did people put Main Coon kittens up for sale, and not have them cost an arm and a leg?? Granted she still had to shell out a couple hundred for each kitten, but as cute as they were...

She'd already stopped at the pet store. getting food, food and water dishes, treats, cat nip, and cat nip mice,  collars, litter, litterboxes, toys, and a bed for each, as well as two of those scratching post type structures that went up against the wall. One for each cat. Everything was unloaded from the back of the pick up once she was at the house, and the box holding the kittens was placed ontop. Some how managing to balance it all and get inside.

Grinning when she realized that neither Alex or Theo were home, she quickly went to work. Venturing into the nest, she set up the play structure against a free wall that was out of the way, placed the little cat bed next to Alex's bed, and the litter box and food in a corner. then scooping up the sleeping kitten, placed it with it's collar in the center of Alex's nest, which surprisingly, wasn't trashed all to hell yet after the changing of the sheets. Then darted back upstairs, hearing a car door slam, then another, signaling the arrival of her house mates.

Into her own room, she scooped up the kitten she'd chosen for herself, and nuzzled it happily. Plopping down on her bed, and waited to hear what Alex's reaction would be.
