Blue to Red (Voice mail for Johnny from Avery)

Sitting back onto her stool, she eyed the glass peice infront of her, looking it over, seeing what still needed to be done, even as she pulled up the number for the red tiger, Johnny she'd gotten that first night they'd hung out at the bar. Waiting while it rang, and finally went to voicemail,

"Hey Red! Lil Blue. Friend of mine is having a get together for us tigers tomorrow night at her place. Hit me back if You wanna go, we can make plans to get there together if your interested. Lemme know!!"

Flipping the phone closed, she set it aside and got back to work. For all she knew, Johnny already had a place to shift. And if he didn't, well...It didn't hurt to make the offer!

"Rosie, Rosie, Rosie."

Laying his head on his sisters lap he looked up at her and watched the far-away look in her eyes shift her consciousness in and out of focus.  One foot in this world one foot in another, he was never quite sure how much Rosie understood that was going on around them.  Johnny scratched at the vibrant red of his hair, and pulled the ends into spikes as he watched the fuzzy inconsequential nonsense being broadcast on the tiny TV they had sitting on top of some concrete blocks in the middle of the living room.  Well, the one room to their apartment which at the moment was being used as a living room.

His latest stolen cell phone buzzed angrily from inside his pocket and he wondered who he had given the number to.  Pulling it out he hit the buttons until it took him to voice mail and then listened to the message left by Lil Blue.  Her offer was intriguing and he relayed it to his sister who just kept staring unfocused at the television set.  Johnny pulled himself up from that reclined position, long legs coiling under him as he did so, and he dialed back the number Avery had called from.

"Hey dar Lil Blue.  We gots fam'ly outt'on da bayou I'll need to be tekin' Lil Rosie ta see.  After dat ah'll meet yous up dere."

That horridly thick Cajun accent was rough in his throat, cut by the interference of teeth that were permanently sharpened into canines and a tongue just a little too rough to be human.  It made an already agressive accent even harder to understand but the blue tiger seemed to pick up what he was laying down quickly enough.  Hanging up the phone he rose to his full gangly height and reached down to hoist Rosie to her feet as well.  There was no way his little sister could handle a full moon with a bunch of strange tigers she didn't know, she was likely to lose her damn mind.  Well, lose it more than she already had.

"Ya wanna git out an see mamma and daddy cher? Come on, git me your bag."

Rosie went to collect her things in a daze and Johnny would make the hour long drive to the Parrish where their clans of Reds had lived for generations.  He'd have to explain that he was checking out some action in the city, which would immediately be disapproved of and probably fought over, but Johnny was always ready for a good ass kicking.  Especially since he was usually the one giving the primary beat down.  He could take a hard knock or two and didn't mind the consequences of his free wheeling lifestyle.  After dealing with whatever his kin had to dish out he would head back into New Orleans proper to find Avery and take her up on her hunting offer.
