He slept throughout the night and day, his clock rang suddenly jolting the weaver aka Ashley Dillon from his slumber. Oh! His head ached from the dream he had about something but didn't know what it was telling him. It was he who holds their fates and perhaps he may intertwine their destiny. For it was the Dreamer to set things right. Ashley must keep his real talents a secret, cloaking the truth so that bad people won't come after him once they know he was sort of like a treasure of sorts. Dreamweavers were like genies except without the smoke and blinking of the eyes. Ashley had a few vampires use him before once. He had one friend who he will miss who showed that he can use his power and help others using it. He don't know about that, he trust very little which is why he stuck to cemeteries and his own morgue here in town. Ashley's been living here forever since his close vampire companion left his side. Ashley was a mystery, but if anyone asks he just can tell the future. It was better than the whole truth, one must not let on what he is capable of. Stir things up if word got out far and wide he never hear the end of it.
Eyes half shut, he reached out his right hand towards the clock on his bed stand in his nice, furnished apartment. He kept up with all the maintenance around here. It was a good thing he can fix up things like a drain pipe or some leaks without any services needed. He wore no shirt, no pants except his white briefs. His body like a temple leaned forward some, his head drooped in both of his hands still half asleep.
He needed to go see a little boy who may need his help, if the dream told him things he believed them. At first, he didn't when he began understanding what he can do. It's a good thing he told no one about all this. Just a few minutes, few minutes then he'll wake up. Ashley's room felt cozy, there was a beige leather sofa next to his wall on the east, farther from his bed and a small screen tv sat on a wooden stand bothering no one, it was off.
Half naked, he stood to his bare feet crossing the room to the kitchen where he started boiling some hot water, poured coffee beans into a coffeemaker on the counter then pushed a button waiting. In another hour, he poured him a cup and drunk the contents which the caffeine done him some good. Setting the cup down, he got out a carton of eggs, bacon, and some of the grits which he prepared to eat so he can start the day at work. Before he went to his Morgue, he thought to go to the location where he thought he saw a boy in the lake. He'll do that.
After more minutes passed, he ate everything on his plate and downed a glass of orange juice he put on a gray and white shirt, gray khaki pants, and a pair of white nikes to start the day off with a jog. Yes, he jogged three or four times a day. Strengthen his body, but also his mind at the same time. He ran a few blocks before stopping near the lake when he heard the scream from a boy whose been stepping too far towards the lake watching an alligator move towards him, his mother was far away not even paying attention to him! What is the world coming to? Instantly, Ashley dashed forward to intercept the alligator's maw. His mother ran forward to see a beautiful man with her little boy, she never seen anyone that handsome in her life. His Greek built frame was what caught her attention, she smiled at him then reached for her kid thanking him quickly. "Th..th..thank you. Sir. You saved his life, but how? "Don't ask him how he know, he just did. All he did was smiled, but gave her advice for future reference. "Do me a favor. You have full responsibilities for this kid, watch over him you are his mother. "That was all he said, then the woman nodded seeing him walk off though she still doesn't know whether he could be some kind of angel or this spirit who knew the right time to come. Maybe he was a superhero? No, it can't be it she thought.
Think all she like he needed to head to the Morgue, so returned home to grab his not so expensive car. He liked to be resourceful especially when it came to money. Getting in the driver's seat, he started the engine then drove the vehicle to the place he was suppose to be. Here is looking at you kid. Ashley's right foot pushed down on the gas pedal speeding a little when he stopped at a right light. Moments later, he drove past and parked his cadillac in the space meant for employers and employees.
