So this was New Orleans? Well, so far she was impressed. The buildings of the French Quarter amazed her. She'd been out of India before, but not to many places had such fever and life. New Orleans was defiantly in a class all it's own. Tonight she felt like getting out. She never was on for staying indoors much, she felt caged, or maybe it was her other side that felt caged and it bleed over. Regardless, She was out strolling along the streets to see what she could get into for a while. She was a true night owl, but if you had a job that required daylight hours it bloody sucked. Her carpenter jeans hung low on her hips and the bottoms of the legs were frayed where it had drug the ground. Yup, they were men's pants. Sue her. Men's jeans were not meant to be worn by people with a backside either, proof of that was in the way the jeans hugged her round hips and booty. A booty that was presently swinging and swaying along to the music blaring in her ears from her Ipod. To set off the jeans she had on a tank top that let her belly ring wink in the light now and then and a black hoodie that was unzipped down the front.
The sneakers on her feet were worn and tapping and moving along to a beat only she was hearing. But, you knew what she was listening to by the husky voice singing on. This one was not a girls to get embarrassed over things like this. Oh no! In fact, Nula lived for shock value sometimes. She placed her hand on a lamp post and swung around it as she sang along before moving on down the side walk as she danced, swayed and sang.
"He smiled, so I got up and asked for his name.
'That don't matter,' he said, 'cause it's all the same.'
He said, 'Can I take you home where we can be alone?'
And next we were moving on
and he was with me, yeah, me."
She passed a man walking towards her on the sidewalk, without thinking twice and grinning the whole time, she took his hand and pulled him into the dance as he spun her. Her dark auburn hair danced freely around her shoulders as she laughed and kept singing. She gave him a little wave and kept walking down the sidewalk and he watched her go smiling. She turned and winked and blew him a kiss before turning back around and kept moving.
