A Delivery For Zoe (From the Twins)

+A day or so after the evening at the Hookah Zoe would come back to the hotel to find something very special waiting for her.  The consierge had been bribed to place the bouquet in the very center of a table in Zoe's room, they sat near the window where the sunlight could cast a brilliant glor on the white petals of the stunning two dozen white roses.  Upon closer inspection it could be seen that each petal, though purest white, had the tracery of red veins.  Imperfection hidden among all that beauty.  The warmth of the sun on the blossoms filled the room with their scent.+

+Leaned against the chrystal vase was a small card, a note which simply read : "Come to the ball with us.  Don't say no." It hadn't been signed, but no doubt the recipient would know who they were from.  If she lifted the card she would find a gift certificare affixed to the back.  The card was from one of the haute couture shops in the city.  A chance for Zoe to go all out in expectation of this once in a lifetime event.+

After an afternoon that had been spent shopping and pampering herself, even buying little gifts for everyone who was currently staying in the hotel rooms as their very unusual family, which for some odd reason had included James, Zoe came back to a room that smelled deliciously of roses. Dropping her bags to the floor, she started rummaging through them to pull out everyone's gifts. It was nothing really flashy, or showy. A silver charm bracelet for Maya, with a few charms already on it, one of those being 'Best Friends', for Nike, she had found an old sterling silver hand mirror, for Venus there were tickets to a fun filled day of laser tag, go-cart riding and mini-golf, with enough of the tickets for the buxom wolf to take everyone if she so chose to do as well as a new prada purse. For James, she had bought the man a lucky's rabbit's foot and some strange, supposedly magical stuff that she had found in a voodoo shop that she figured he might eventually need and a small pewter statue of a mage holding a fireball. For Jenna, the new-comer to their rowdy group and the person Zoe knew probably least of all she bought a cute little outfit, of a light blue matching skirt and tank top set, with matching shoes and accessories. For her cousin, she'd found a zippo lighter with a picture of a wolf howling to the moon on the case and then a certificate to one of the city's quote, unquote best restaurants with enough on it to be able to take at least him and one other person out.

It was while she was in the middle of sorting through all these gifts that her curiosity finally got the better and she went to check out the vase with the roses in it. Leaning over, she closed her eyes a moment while inhaling deeply of the sweet scent. As she opened her eyes while exhaling, she noticed the tiny red veins in the petals. Her fingers lifted, touching the petals velvety softness before her eyes noticed the card sitting next to the vase. Biting her lip, she wondered who the roses were actually for, and if she dared peek at the card.

Once more her curiosity would not let her leave well enough alone, and she lifted the card, reading the inscription upon it. Her lips mouthed the words that were written there, "Come to the ball with us. Don't say no." A surprised smile dawned on her face as she realized the roses, the card, everything there was for her. She looked around briefly, wondering if anyone else had seen or noticed the roses and the card. Not wanting another lecture from her cousin, she took the card with her as she moved over to the bed and flopped down. Chocolate eyes stared at the card before flipping it over, and to her shock, another card was with it. She blinked realizing it was gift certificate and laid there, staring at it all. How could she refuse? But still, how could she tell them she accepted? And another question, how could she go with them, and not have Geller throw a freaking fit? At that moment, she didn't care, the world was beautiful, mysterious, and her oyster, and she would enjoy it while it lasted.
