Once she got Vesta into the car and was on her way to the hospital, Jessica pulled out her phone to make some calls of her own. The first was to the hospital, letting them know she was on her way and then to Artemus and Benjamin, the pair of males would be sufficient for what she needed.
Done with her calls she sent a glance Vesta's way, offering a calm smile, "It'll be alright. You probably have a concussion. Once we're at the hospital we'll see if you need stitches on that scalp wound and we'll get you all cleaned up." What she didn't mention was the possibility of infection. Between Knox's blood and the tiger blood who knew if there'd been any contamination at this point. Once at the hospital she'd get her cleaned up and go from there.
It didn't take long for Jess to get them to the hospital, she'd learned to drive in New York after all, pulling into the emergency entrance of the clinic. She stepped from the car, moving around to the passenger side as the nurses came out to greet her.
"Possible infection due to blood contact to an open wound. Scalp laceration and she was handled by an injured shifter. Possible feline and rat contamination." Instructions given to the nurses as they carefully helped Vesta from the car and onto a gurney. The nurses nodded, one of them notating a chart as the others wheeled Vesta inside. "Someone park the car for me please." Following the gurney in, knowing one of the interns would deal with the car.
"Don't worry Vesta, you're in the best possible hands." Reassuring words offered as they passed into the hospital doors and to one of the trauma rooms she had set up.
Benjamin hated hospitals with a passion, but that call from Jessica was very important as he was driving that black 1969 Plymouth Roarunner. Finding a place to park at in the parking lot before getting out and as he walked his senses were overwhelmed a bit. A couple deep breaths were taken till he went inside looking around trying to find out where Jessica is, wondering what happened. Hands at his side while Benjamin looked to his left then to the right trying to figure out if he should stay where he was or walk deeper into the clinic. One of the nurses spotted Benjamin and walked up to him telling him to wait her and that Jessica would be with him in few minutes. So the panther took a seat leaning back in that chair and played the waiting game.
After leaving Artemus and Kota in her office she returned to check on Vesta, smiling softly as she checked on the stitches used to seal up her scalp wound. "We're still waiting on your test results. Just rest for me, alright?" Reassuring words given to the patient along with a light touch to her arm.
She returned to the nurses station, scowling faintly whsn she saw that the blood test results were still not back. "Contact the lab and make sure there's a rush on those results, Cheryl." The nurse nodded, lifting the phone before gesturing to the waiting area. "Someone to see you Doctor."
She looked over, smile returning, "Thanks Cheryl," and crossed over to the waiting area. "Benjamin, thank you for coming." Great Cat within her moved to lightly buffet the dark panther as her power flowed over him. "Walk with me?" She waited for him to rise, moving further into the hospital, heading slowly towards her office.
"I know we really haven't had a chance to spend a lot of time together or for you to meet the others in the pard but there's a situation going on and, to be honest, I would like you here to help out." So much information to give him in a short time but she was trusting her instincts here with him, hoping he'd be a valuable asset in this situation. "There is a situation between the Rodere and some tigers and it looks like things are going to get extremely violent. I have close ties with the Rodere," understatement and a story for another day, "but we believe that the tigers are unaware of it so we hope there is little risk of them involving the pard. But there's a possibility of injuries coming into the hospital and I'd like you to help in case there are any issues here. Artemus and Dakota, other members of the pard are here as well and are prepared to help."
That was about the gist of things, laying it out as concisely as she could and simply waiting for any questions he might have as they continued towards her office.
((OOC: I don't really care if there's possible infections if yall want to play it out like that. I think it would be an interesting and awesome twist to the story!))
~*~She didn't know what was going on, or who was around her. All she knew were Theo and Remi, who were there when she awoke from the couch. And then a really nice woman came to her side saying that she's going to the hospital.~*~
"No no I'm okay, I promise! Nothing like a bottle of Advil and some water will do the trick, I swear. This is not the first time this has happened. I'm very clumsy, ya know..."
~*~But the woman insisted on taking her to the hospital. Once the lady lifted her from the couch, Vesta wrapped her arms around her neck. She was actually really surprised how easily the lady could pick her up since they were about the same size. And then she was hauled into a car, and on their way to the hospital.~*~
~*~She listened to the very nice lady that seemed to instantly calm her down when she touched her. The lady was so warm, so beautiful, and so sweet, and Vesta fell into a peaceful state.~*~
"Okay, I believe you. I mean I don't think it's that bad, I'm okay."
~*~A few nurses lifted her onto a stretcher and rolled her inside as soon as they stopped in front of the hospital. Again, the woman reassured and made her feel at peace. Vesta didn't know how she was doing it, but she didn't mind at all. In fact, she hoped the woman would be there to keep her calm when they worked on her scalp wound. Once they were inside a room, they began running tests, pumped her up with pain meds, and started to stitch her scalp wound up. The woman had to leave to deal with other patients, Vesta assumed, but she held onto the peaceful feeling as best as she could while they stitched her up. Then again, it could be the drugs doing it this time.~*~
~*~As soon as they were finished, the woman came back into the room, advising to rest, and waiting on her test results. For what, though? All she did was crack her skull a little bit. Perhaps they were making sure she didn't have a concussion or an early brain tumor? Vesta didn't really know. She smiled to the woman, nodded, and rested.~*~

His first time in this clinic knowing that Jessica ran this place gave him some sort of safety, but he hated these kind of places and as he sat down waiting for his queen those hands were resting firmly upon his knees while a toothpick was being held inbetween his lips. Yellowish hues still looked around in order to take in every feature of the clinc, but stopped as he felt Jessica get closer to him. A small smile formed on his lips seeing her as he bowed his head out of respect to her. "My Queen" That power of hers flowed over Benjamin like the the blood in his veins, starting to awaken the panther whom longed to come out Jessica said, "Walk with me" without any hesitation Benjamin rose to his feet in order to walk with her, but right as he stood at her side Benjamin properly greeted her with a light rub to her cheek with his own then pulled back so the two of them could walk and talk or rather her talk and he listen.
Jessica & Benjamin haven't talked with one another since their first meeting in that alley outside of the Kitty Lounge which could of been his last night alive. He had ignored her call because he didn't by into the whole strength in numbers or following one person, but that look in her eye that night showed Benjamin how angry she could get and it was a look he didn't want to see aimed in his direction ever again. Benjamin offered himself to Jessica and her cause to get all of their people united. Full of questions and curiousity as to what he had been missing out on. "So a situation between Rodere and Tigers? What is this situation?" Benjamin of course had to smirk just a little bit when Jessica said she had close ties to the Rodere, due to the simple fact that her entire body was covered in the scent of one. Not his place to question the nature of the tie, but he knew that must be stronger than she let on. "Issues?" The thought of violence had him grinning from ear to ear, Jessica could hear that heart beating a little faster from pure excitement. Benjamin was an amateur boxer & mixed martial artist before his incident and had to drop from going pro because it wouldn't be fair to fight humans. Benjamin was still grinning before speaking up "So am I right to assume that you are asking me protect those within these very walls?"
She shook her head lightly at his formalily, "Please Benjamin, Jessica or Jess is fine." She sighed softly when he inquired about the 'situation'. "The rodere was assisting a human friend in warding her home and tonight a number of tigers attempted to break in. One of the rodere was injured and so were some of the tigers. Its likely now that there will be more violence between the rodere and the tigers."
She studied him as she felt his excitement at the thoughts of violence, brow arching just slightly. "Injuries will likely be sent here but it is possible that the battle will as well. If that's the case I would like you, along with any others of the pard that are here to focus on protecting the humans here in the hospital and ensuring they are evacuated safely. My staff is well trained in dealing with violent shifters, they know to basically get out of the way. But we are only defending the staff and the patients here, we are not involved in the conflict."
One of the nurses approached them where they stood speaking, "Doctor, the blood tests..."
She accepted the offered chart, "Thank you Cheryl," looking down at it to studied the results. "Hell." She sighed softly, "Benjamin, I need to talk to my patient." She gestured to her office, "Artemus and Dakota, two others of the pard are waiting in there if you'd like to join them." She waited for his assent before moving back to the room where Vesta was resting.
"Vesta," she smiled softly as she entered the room. "We have your blood test results." This was always the difficult part of her job, relaying this sort of information to a patient. She pulled a stool over to sit beside the bed. "Your blood test is showing active lycanthropy virus in your system. Apparently there was comtamination of one of the shifter's blood in the wound to your head." She let the words sink in, studying Vesta's reaction.
Benjamin walked and talked with Jessica, but truth be told it was Jessica who did all the talking while he listened to her. She gave him every detail he needed to hear, but he was so full of even more questions, though they were going to have to wait for another time because Jessica had to go speak to her patient. His left hand clenched tight into a fist hearing what tigers did, but he truthfully didn't know any of the rats nor the other members of the pard because he did what he did best and that was stick to the shadows. He controlled his emotions knowing Jessica was putting her trust in him to protect the humans within these very walls as well as the other members of the pard,
"I have more questions, but they can wait as I know you have a paitent to tend to, I'll be here we can talk later."
He entered the office with his toothpick inbetween his lips looking to the two others within as he was sizing them up one by one thinking in the back of head that these two were people he had to protect if it came down to it. Though he did offer a smile to the two before speaking and taking a seat in an empty chair.
~*~It might have seemed hours later that the doctor returned due to the medicine, but it was really a few minutes or the most, an hour. Vesta smiled when she entered in the room. And then she sat herself up when the doctor said she had the test results.~*~
"Oh! Okay. Do I have a brain tumor? Maybe internal bleeding?"
~*~Of course, this was what Vesta expected because it was a pretty hard collision and fall. However, what the doctor said, was not at all what Vesta had expected. The smile instantly faded from her lips; her jaw almost dropping to her lap. Contamination??? Lycanthropy virus??? Couldn't be....~*~
"Wha....."
~*~For once in her life, she was speechless, completely silent. Her eyes blinked wildly as they began to soak, and silent tears streamed down her cherub cheeks. After a few moments, she closed her jaw and swallowed hard; those black long lashes fluttering faster than a butterfly's wings. She took a deep breath.~*~
"So....what now? How did it happen? Am I gonna turn furry once a month? Am I gonna start killing innocent people when I'm furry? Where am I going to live? Oh my God! What about my job?? What do I have to eat now?? Are there others like me?? Oh wait...the house that I was at, were those people lycanthropes too??! What blood is now in my veins?? What animal am I gonna turn into??! Oh God!"
~*~Her mouth spilled. She began to talk a mile a minute, not taking any breaths between questions. And it was that moment she fell into complete shock, and bursted into a full-blown cry, burying her face into her hands, shaking her head side to side. Praying to God.~*~
She was expecting the rush of questions, the flood of panic within Vesta's eyes. It was something she had seen too many times in the past. Her eyes were sympathetic as she laid a hand on Vesta's arm, letting the warm rush of her power spill over the girl. It wouldn't do much at this point, the infection still too new in Vesta's system but even the slightest hint of soothing contact would help.
She let her sob for a few moments, letting that first shock run through her system before she spoke softly, hand moving to lightly soothe over Vesta's back. "Easy now. Deep breaths. That's it." She soothed her softly until the worst of the sobs eased, only then reaching to grab the box of tissues from the nearby table.
"First things first. You're not going to have to hurt or kill anyone. There are a lot of others like you and I will be introducing you to some people that will be more then happy to help you. In fact, you know most of them already." She took a deep breath, "How you got infected was an unfortunate accident. The blood of a shifter mingled with yours after you were injured. I know just how traumatic this can be but trust me when I say that we will do everything we can to make things as easy for you as possible."
She knew that she hadn't answered all of the blurted questions that Vesta had but she wanted to pace out the information, letting the girl accept it all a little at a time. She would have to call Tommy soon to let him know but there was no rush right now, the rodere had other priorities.
With everything that was going on lately, it was a wonder they had time to breathe. From Art finding out about his grandmother, to Jess finding a place for the pard. To school starting, and now finishing, with her finals just the next week. Now something about the rodere and tigers??
Her brow furrowed as she'd driven herself and Art to the clinic downtown, and walked hand in hand inside, her fingers laced with his as they moved down the hallways together, heading towards Jess. She'd never spent all that much time around tigers. the only ones she'd really ever met were the ones in hawaii. And she hadn't really known them well.
So when Jess explained the situation and started asking Art questions about the journal he'd brought with him, Kota just listened quietly.
Soon they were sitting in Jess's office, Kota chewing on her thumb nail as she stood next to the window beside Artemus, dark amber eye's staring out the window. "She didn't say which one of the rats it was....you dont' think it was Alex or Theo or Otis do you?" Glancing sideways towards her mate, concern clear in her voice. She was worried about her friends. They were important to her. But she figured if it had been, Jess would probably have told her what happend. maybe...hopefully?
When the door opened though awhile later, Kota was ready to ask questions, only it wasn't Jess that came through the door. Seeing the dark skinned man entering, and sensing that larger black cat, the smaller, more petite female that was Kota's other half, moved like a shadow towards the lighter form of it's mate, even as Kota moved towards Art himself instinctivly.
Artemus would understand. Kota had grown quite a bit, but a new cat was something she was always just a little wary of. Fingers found Art's, and she watched Benjamin with those dark eyes, outlined with thick black lashes. Her voice when she finally decided to speak, was soft, and thickly accented with a hispanic accent. "Hola...who are you?"
Well...had to give her points for at least trying right? Even if she was a little blunt.
As with everything that came at him in life, Artemus found a stride with it. Jessica'd laid things out clear enough. Rodere were duking it out with a local Horde and while Jess and Milo were intimately close, the fight was still the Rodere's. Their job was just playing medic, for now. And that was something he was all right with. He just hoped she didn't expect him to stick his neck too far out for people he didn't know.
"You know, hate to say it but I'm starting to see a trend, Kota. Anytme Jess calls me.." putting emphasis on the onesided nature of the calling. "Its because the shit has hit the fan in some manner." With a slow exhale they remained in companionable silence as he just watched out the window and waited.
With the opening up the door he simply turned his head, watching the other male enter having felt him before then. Bright emeralds are calculating in their appraisal of the other cat. His beast only lifting its head up curiously before its white head lowers back down having done its inspection. As Dakota inched closer, lacing her fingers with him, Artemus never changed his posture, just remained a cool customer.
"You Benjamin?" He asked after a pregnant pause figuring this'd be his partner in crime if things got hairy. Finally the Great Cat in him rose, its build more like their Jaguar cousins than a Leopard, and stalked towards the others beast. His hand offering Dakota a slight squeeze of reassurance.

Once the large panther entered Jessica's office he observed to the pair of cats within, looking each of them up and down in a slow manner with those yellow & black eyes, the panther within curiousity was very much sated for now at least. An ear to ear grin formed on those lips thinking how these two would fall under his protection in case the fight between the rodere and tigers was brought to them though truth be told Ben didn't stick his neck out for strangers, he was always caring about himself. He still wasn't fully sold on the pard, but hell Jessica had his respect and for that reason alone the panther would do whatever necessary for all to carry on. Settled on the pair whom from his observation had to be very close to one another because their scents were all over each other attention on the woman asking who he was and responding with that southern drawl. "I'm Benjamin and you are?" Then he looked over at the male with that same look, of questioning, though full of seriousness cause he knew he was about to answer his question "And you must be Artemus?" Holding his ground and position as he stood up in the office making introductions as this a quick meet and greet in a pretty bad situation.
"Well then, go on a limb that Jess aprised you of what's going on." More statement than question as he offered a nod to the other cat. "No better way to get to know each other than baptism by fire." his tone even upbeat about the whole situation. Part of him hoped that bringing his knives wouldn't be a wasted precaution. He really was out of practice, and tigers are large targest. Pulling away from Dakota he moved and offered his hand to Benjamin, a simple human greeting. They could do more formal events later when not sitting on their hands waiting for the bloodied gurnies.
If taken, his grip was business like. A squeeze and two pumps. No muscle contests or attitude. As far as Artemus was concerned they all knew their jobs and that was the end of matters. If all went well they'd be down at the bar tomorrow buying rounds.
