Silent had always had a place in her heart for Lou. Even back in the old days when Eric was Ulfric...Though Silent never once acknowledge him as such. But she had been honored to call Lou her Lupa...Even after he called that whore swan his new Lupa. Though that woman had met a very untimely end..
But that wasnt here or there. The fact was that Silent loved Lou..Like a sister..Though she completely sucked at showing this...It didnt change the fact and with everything changing here...And things in the process of being transfered to Salem...Silent wanted Lou to go with them..So following the little red head's scent she would find Lou sitting on the back pourch.
Smiling some Sil would drop beside the girl. "hey lady...How you been doing?
Lou had been spending more and more time at the pack house since Kodi had left town. The nightmares had returned, the apartment above the shop too empty to bear. After the first nights of waking in terror she had begun to slip into the pack house in the wee hours of the night, finding a corner to curl in for the night. By the time Thanksgiving had passed she was not even attempting to sleep in the apartment, simply working herself to near exhaustion in the shop and then riding out to the pack house, letting the presence of the others in the house soothe her though she continued to keep mostly to herself.
She was curled in one of the chairs on the back porch tonght, having abandoned the shop early today, swamped in the folds of her oversized field jacket, pencil moving aimlessly over a fresh page in her sketchbook. The sound of the door opening had her head lifting, a fragile smile offered Silent's way.
She'd known Silent forever it seemed but it surprised her sometimes how much the other woman had changed. Silent had grown so much over the years, become a leader, found her mate. Lou envied Silent's strength, wishing she could be half as strong.
"I'm doin' alright." It wasn't really a lie, just making it from one day to the next. "Glad to be home?"
Silent hadnt really changed. Not really, just grew up some. Somewhere down deep she was still that spoiled girl that Tino had created. And until recently she had never truely understood that bound that she had with Ash or even the pack. Silent had never really understood the blessing they were...But once again her eyes were never truely opened til Nyx came. That one girl had change Sils life in ways that she still didnt fully grasp. Moving to curl up at Lous feet Sil would rest her head in the small womans lap. "I wouldnt call this home. Not in a long time Lou. " Silent would frown some. It was hard to explain why New Orleans wasnt home....But it wasnt...Not anymore. A small sigh would pass her lips. "Just hurts to be here anymore. I love Salem..I miss it actually. Youd love it there my lup..Lou." Silent may be Lupa of Ashs pack..but in sils heart...that was Lou...Ofcourse Lou was the only Lupa silent ever had. "You should come with me next time i go...I wanna move the pack there again someday..."
Her pencil stilled when Silent sat, slowly letting her hand fall to the tangle of the other woman's hair, a barely felt touch, toying with the strands. She nibbled lightly at her lower lip, considering Silent's words for long moments. "This is the only real home I've ever had." She curled a lock of Silent's hair around her finger. "Maybe." The words were a barely audible whisper.
Move the pack there? Just the thought of it had a thrill of panic racing along her spine. Her hand lifted from Silent's hair shifting slightly in the chair to curl just a little bit tighter.
"Someday? Not... soon though. Right?" It was hard to keep the tremor from her voice. She didn't think she could take anyone else leaving right now.
Silent would nuzzel against Lous leg as she played with her hair.
"I used to think this was home...But they distroyed it on me."
Silent didnt say who...Wasnt sure she needed to...Not with how well Lou knew the old Silent. How she had brought Sil back from the ashes of the Abraxas.
"I dont think I could call New Orleans home...Or anywhere momma. Ash is home."
This was said rather randomly..More to herself then anyone. A low sigh would pass her lips. She just laid her head there just stareing out into the swamps. Memories of the past swirling in her mind..Alot of good...Just not enough good.
"No not today but soon. Ash is gone so much...And Nyx is growing older...I want to settle somewhere...And Salem...Its...Redemption."
Those colorful tri colored hues would look up at Lou.
"Next visit I make up there to check on the Capt and Nyx...Come with us"
She gnawed lightly at her lower lip, slowly turned her pencil between her fingers, focusing on the sketch she'd begun. Finally the tip of the pencil was placed back to paper, light strokes begun as she considered Silent's words.
"I don't know. I don't like leaving the shop." it was a weak excuse, one she knew was just an excuse. The thought of leaving, even on a visit, was just frightening. "Its all I have. The shop." Even though she was unable to sleep in the apartment lately she couldn't abandon the shop, it had been their home.
