This is very hard for me to write, mostly because it is not my own departure that I am accounting for. I am writing to let the members know that Dawn has decided to retire from RP due to some changes in her rl. She is not leaving for another SL, or leaving because of animousity, but because she is doing something important with her life that requires a greater commitment of her time.
She expressed love for the members of WL in her resignation email and I think the only reason she did not write this herself is because the decision was emotionally difficult. Dawn was a creative, vibrant, and sweet woman and her RP will be greatly missed by many here. Please join us in thanking her for her contributions as a mod of this SL and if you pray (or hope) please pray that she has the best of joy, luck, and prosperity in what she is doing now.
If there are characters who are affected by the departure of hers and need to reconfigure some things please feel free to contact any of the other mods for assistance.

Well I do hope that whatever she is doing that she is happy, and it is so sad to see her go. Dawn and I have been very close friends for a long time, and I know that she will miss everyone here. And I wish her the best of luck with whatever she is doing. Thank you Dawn for your contribution as a wonderful mod in this group. Everything you helped and did for this group is more than appreciated. Your characters were amazing and you played them wonderfully.
I hope you read this someday but know that I will miss you and I most regret not getting to know you better. Everyone always thinks they will have the time... until there is no more time.

Well I don't think we rp enough but the times we did it was great. And I wish you luck and joy with whatever your doing in life. And hopefully one day soon you will come back to us out of retirement to join us again.
I'm not Hawaiian. But I stand by the word they use for family. I didn't get the chance to know Dawn as well as others. Yet, she is Ohana to me and I know to a lot of us.

ʻohana means family in an extended sense of the term including blood-related, adoptive or intentional. It emphasizes that family are bound together and members must cooperate and remember one another.
I'll miss her a....lot. She was a very special friend. We would talk all the time when she was online. I seriously love the woman. Rped whenever she had the time to do so. I deeply appreciate our chats to our moments in virtuality. It's difficult me to say too. I've known her for a long time. A poem from me to her. Never thought of it, till now. This is to you Dawn! Follow your dreams, for there is no such thing as distant.

So there's like... really no way to get in touch with Dawn, right? No forwarding address? No place to leave notes? No way to send messages in bottles?
I dunno. I just... really, really miss talking to her. Just as friends, completely OOC. Figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. If the answer is 'no' then nothing really changes, and I'll just keep hoping that maybe someday she comes out of retirement, or resurfaces somehow.
