Back In the Big Easy (Open to Lori & Hookah People)

=Jessie and Lori had been having a hell of a time trying to get together for a beer.  In fact, he couldn't remember the last time he'd had so much trouble just pinning a person down.  Not that it was on Lori.  Oh no, Jessie had a boss who didn't believe in nine to five, and Viktor had kept Jessie running all over the place on various errands of the undead for weeks now.  Finally though he'd been sent back to New Orleans.  Since he had no idea when his leash might be jerked again he wasn't wastin' a second in trying to make contact.=

=The motorcycles engine echoed in the alleyway alongside the Hookah as he pushed down the kickstand with his heel and cut the engine.  Upstairs he could see the glow of lights from what he assumed was the living quarters above the renowned Hookah.  Closing his eyes for a moment as he sat in the saddle of the bike he tried to feel the energy around himself and see if he could identify the little gothic pixie inside.  Once he did he leaned down and grabbed one of the gravel rocks at his feet.=

"Lori.......it's Jessie..."

=The words were half shouted, half whispered as he chucked the rock at one of the windows to try to get her attention.  Hey, that shit worked in the moving pictures all the time.  Waiting, he dismounted from the bike and gazed up at the window glowing with light trapped behind curtains and hoped that Lori would be the one to answer his call.=

Life had been more crazy in the past few months than the petite pixie could ever anticipate life being. Her modeling career was trying to launch again, once more without any effort of her own. Her agent continued to call her and on one occasion when she'd told him to go to hell, he pulled her contract out on her. For a couple of months she'd lived out of a suitcase to appease her agent, touring all over the country for photo shoots.

Once she returned home, it was to find that Silent was debating on going back to Salem. It was weird, the change in the swamp wolf, and Lori could sense the urgency and need in her friend to return to a place that had touched her, similar to how she herself had once felt about a set of islands that really no longer existed. She told Silent that she would take care of the Hookah, getting things in order, packing and the like, and if they were truly to go, she would go with her.

With that, the swamp wolf had left to return to Salem, to feel the place out while leaving the tiny goth girl behind to handle affairs at home. It was difficult, seeing the Hookah closed down. There were so many memories for her here, but she knew most of them were because of Silent, and she would not forsake her dearest friend. Most of all of the paperwork had been handled. Silent could sell the Hookah if she wished, or have Lori hire new management for it while they were away. The rest was really just packing up furniture and personal items.

For a telekinetic, packing was actually pretty easy. But knowing she had the time, she actually took the time to handle everything with care. Boxes were littered across nearly every inch of the upstairs loft. Some already full, taped up with large scrawl in sharpie telling which part of the house the box belonged as well as if fragile items might be inside. While others were still opened, being filled with necessary items that the little pixie could not dare to leave behind.

She was stretched out across her bed, taking a break from packing, listening to music from her i-pod, when she heard a tink against her window. A slender ebon brow arched up, and slowly she rose from the bed, wondering what could make such a noise. As she drew closer to the window, she heard what sounded like someone calling to her, and a look of puzzlement appeared on her pale features. Gloved hands pulled back the curtain in front of her window just as another rock hit the glass and made her blue-green eyes widen with being slightly startled.

Slim fingers turned the lock on the window and she lifted it up, before poking her head outside to look down into the alley below. Unfortunately for Jesse, the lighting in the back alley was not of the best quality, and while the tiny goth girl was no doubt, illuminated perfectly by the light from the room, she could barely make out the form on the street below. "Hello? Who's there?"

=Jessie chuckled when he heard her response.  Sometimes he forgot that not everyone could see in the darkness like he could.  With his hands positioned in the pockets of his leather bomber jacket he turned his head upward to watch Lori as she leaned out the window and eyed the alley below.  For a second he forgot that he was supposed to respond, his hazel eyes fully attentive on the woman above him.  Once he realized she was going to duck back inside he stammered out an answer in that low keyed New Mexico twang.=

"Hey-uh Lori, it's me...Jessie.  Why don'tcha come down here and tell these cooks'a yours to let me in."

=How many times had he shown up out of the blue now? He'd be lucky if she didn't drop a potted plant on his damn head just for good measure.  At least the time before last he'd been able to explain a little bit of why he wasn't always in control of his comings an' goings.  Hands slipped out of his pockets when she ducked back inside and he ran his fingers along the slick sides of his pompadour.  Once he was sure no potted plant was coming down on him he headed over towards the back door hoping that she was coming down to let him inside.=

The little pixie could see the outline of someone there, but even as she leaned further, damn near haphazardly out of the window, those blue-green hues could not make out who it was. The silence that stretched out after her question was grating on her nerves, making her frown. Just as she pushed off the window sill to go back inside and close the window, fully prepared to ignore whoever it was throwing pebbles at the window, his voice lifted up from where he stood, catching her completely off guard. It felt like it had been forever since she'd heard that voice, and sometimes, she still wondered if every meeting of theirs had simply been the fevered dreams of a foolish young girl's heart.

"Jessie?" It was a little redundant to question him now, she would know the sound of his voice anywhere, but the word slipped out anyway before she could stop it. It felt like she was frozen in time, unable to move. Her heart had already lurched and was now drumming a ridiculously furious tempo within her chest. Then finally, her limbs caught up with her mind, and she was pushing away from the window, closing it firmly behind her to keep out the cold night air.

Her steps were hurried as she twisted from the window, and she paused only long enough to stare at her reflection in the mirror, hoping she wasn't a complete mess. Her hair was a shock of tangles in it's ponytail, so she pulled the band from its place, letting the obsidian length free to tumble down her back. Gloved fingers rifled through the locks until most of the tangles were gone and she eyed her appearance once more, before giving a small nod.

After that, she was out of the room nearly flying down the stairs in her hurry to get to the back door. She stopped only once more, grabbing down her thick leather coat to throw on over the black tank top that named her "Sassy" and zip it up. When she reached the back door, she was nearly out of breath from the sheer quickness with which she'd managed to traverse the building. Taking a deep breath, she unbolted the back door and opened it up, slipping easily out into the darkness.

"Is it really you, or am I dreaming?" She asked when she noticed his figure standing there waiting for her.
