Brooklyn Dechanel had found looking in the classified section of the Picayune-Times newspaper really paid off. After all, she wouldn't have found her bandmates for Broken Monday through it. Now she had her eye on a Volkswagon Beetle someone had for sale, only 59,000 miles on it. A classic, although it needed a little TLC. Brooklyn was positively sure that it would be a welcome addition to her collection of things, and she could get it to work. Even if she had to work doubly hard to pay for insurance, gas, and the like. She called the number on the advertisement and spoke to a guy named Joe, who said that the car was still for sale. Just one thousand dollars and she could have it. Brooklyn only had saved up 750 bucks, but had 60 bucks to add for it, so 810 dollars. Being a thrifty sort, she tried talking Joe down for the price, to see if he was desperate enough to sell her the car for $800. It took about 30 minutes of haggling, to get Joe to drop the price. But she had a new car. A chocolate brown VW Beetle that could hold her gear, and get her around town faster than a skateboard could. She arranged for a time where she could meet Joe, pay for the car and change ownership. She was totally stoked! It was truly amazing her luck.
