A CALL TO THE DOC (TO JESSIE FROM ASH)

When the lycan clinic told him that Jessica was taking off for awhile even his impassive expression turned to something far more mortal.  He had an immediate temptation to wiggle a finger in his ear and see if he was hearing them correctly.  The offer to put him through to her voicemail was denied and he hung up and called her personal number directly.  In the past he'd never really used it since Jessica and the clinic usually went hand in hand.  Apparently while he'd been lost in the land of the lukoi many things had been changing around the city.

"Jessica, it's Ash." The sound of Jessica's voice as she picked up was greeted with something more casual than his usual last name only line.  "I have a favor I need to ask of you if you have the time.  You see, there's a wolf in town who's only seventeen or so.  If you can believe this she was actually turned just over a month or so ago at summer camp."

Hold for laugh track.  "Yes.....yes....she still lives with her parents which is where I find myself needing your unique skill set.  I assume your training qualifies you for breaking this kind of news to someones parents....helping to explain to them the uniqueness of their daughters situation and perhaps trying to make them understand what this new way of life entails.  I was hoping that you could come with me to meet with them."

After all, Sarah could hardly sneak out three nights a month for the full moon and be caught hanging around with any of the members of the pack as she was being trained.  First of all it would just be odd and second of all it could land one or more of them in jail for contributing to the delinquency of a minor or worse depending on what her parents thought was going on.  Hoping he was right and that Jessica would in fact have some training in these situations he waited for her response.

Yet again, she was flipping through house listings as she sat in her hotel room, doing her best to keep herself focused on that rather then dwelling on those things she couldn't change. When her phone rang she didn't bother glacning at the caller ID, simply hit the call button to answer, lifting it to her ear to speak distractedly. "This is Jessica."

Ash's voice on the other end of the line had her turning her attention fully to the call, it wasn't often that he called and usually it was because someone was injured. Her brows lifted in surprise when he asked her for a favor before knitting together in a faint frown as he explained.

And no, there was no laugh track, Jessica always took infections seriously, no matter how they occurred. "Seventeen? And the authorities weren't contacted?" Obviously not since the girl should have been brought to the clinic after it occurred if she was within city limits. She rose to pace across her hotel room as she spoke with him. "Most of the work we do at the clinic is reassurance for parents but yes, we have had some instances of being there to assist in telling family members about being infected, though it is rarely someone this young. Of course I'd be happy to go with you to assist." She sighed softly, not looking forward to the conversation. "Since she is a minor you will want to see about getting some guardianship paperwork for her parents to sign, to give you in loco parentis while she is under your care. Do you plan to her have living with you while she is trained?"

There were things she needed to know beforehand about how he intended to train the girl, so that the information could be presented to her parents in the best manner.
