Concealed Carry Class:

Sergeant Corp's Gun & Shooting Range can assist you in obtaining a concealed handgun permit from Louisiana. We offer the required training and assistance needed for proper permit application submittal. We offer training classes for first-time concealed carry applicants , as well as renewal classes for permit holders.

The average total price for completing the Louisiana application for a four-year permit is around $230. That is around $58 per year. The total price consists of $100 for permit fees, $95 for training fees, and an estimated $35 for paperwork fees (which include: notary, fingerprints, passport picture, photocopies, and certified funds or money order fees.) Some applicants may notice their fees increased by prior state residency, prior background, requests for records, etc. We will help all of our concealed carry students with their particular individual application process.

To get started, you must first download an application to obtain a concealed permit, fill out the form and submit or you can call the LA state police office at (225) 925-4867 or (225) 925-4868 and request the application packet to be mailed to you.

After you receive your application packet in the mail, schedule your required class for your permit application by calling 504-733-7695 or walk in to one of our Saturday classes.

The class is designed to cover all basic pistol instruction in a 9 to 10 hour time frame. Classes are available as a 1-day all-in-one session only.

Currently we have the permit classes available on Saturdays and every third Wednesday and Friday of the month. Our Saturday classes are offered every Saturday and do not require any pre-registration or scheduling. Students are encouraged to come early to our Saturday classes as spaces are limited and are filled on a first-come first-served basis.

The Saturday class is a 1-day class starting around 12:30pm (after lunch) and ending around 9:30pm. Schedules are somewhat flexible with early registration.

As a convenience, classes are also available by appointment. Appointments must be made at least a week before the scheduled date. Please contact us to talk to one of NRA certified instructors.

In addition, if you have 5 or more in a group that register to take the class at the same time and day, discounts are available as well as a more customized class schedule. Please call or contact us for more info.

Once you have scheduled your class, look over the information that was sent to you in your state application packet. Read the instructions for filling out the application, as well as the Permit Laws pamphlet. If you do not understand something, make a note and we will address it in class.

Fingerprints and passport photos can be completed for a fee of $25. Fingerprint cards are provided in your packet if you requested the application by mail. Otherwise, we can provide you with one. Fingerprint and photo services are offered on Saturday at 6:00pm during class break or they can be done by appointment.

What to bring with you on class day:

  • Application packet for Concealed Carry Permit from Louisiana State.
  • Your handgun and 36 rounds of ammo (also available for purchase before class)
  • Your patience, attention, and questions.
  • Registration and payment can be completed on your class day before class begins.
