Avery....was extatic. Finally, the appartment was going to be renovated. The workmen would start on monday, and While she'd still be able to work downstairs in the shop, she'd need a place to stay soon. Sure, she could sleep in the back room on a cot, but that'd be annoying after awhile. The decision to call Jenna and ask if she could crash at the house was made after a little while, and while it ment staying with the other tigers that actually lived there, she figured it was better then not having a place to stay while the work was being compleated, which apparently was going to take about a month. So clothing was packed in a duffle, along with ipad and laptop. And tossed in the back of her jeep.
Before she could deal with any of her living arrangements however, she needed to pick up a glass shipment. NOt only did she need new sheets of the stuff for her stained glass peices, but as she'd now branched out into glass blowing, she had to pick up supplys for that as well. Unfortunetly it was in a seedier part of town, and while she wasn't really worried about it, it wasn't exactly the best place to be after dark.
The blue haired kitten wound her way down the street, after parking the jeep, and Frowned, looking up at the buildings, trying to find the right one. IT was a new supplyer, so she'd never actually been before. When her sensative nose and ears picked up the scent and sound of humans near by as she turned down an ally, she paused. Something was off here. She wasn't sure what exactly, but...
Shakeing her head, she crept towards the door that was slightly ajar, and peered around into the dimly lit warehouse. Boxes and boxes and boxes piled high everywhere, and in the center, a group of what Avery could only discribe as thugs gathered. Leaning over a table in the center of their group.
Curiosity getting the better of her, (you know the old saying after all) she slipped into the shadows of the warehouse, and moved untill she had a better vantage point. Who the hell gathered in a warehouse anyway? The low voices reached her ears, and she caught the words "shipments" "fang bangers" and "V". At that last, they parted just enough, she could see the little vials of the red liquid, and the coppery sweet scent of it hit her nose. Makeing her draw in a breath sharply and crystaline eye's puplis dialated instantly.
They were pushing V...How...what.....Avery swore under her breath, looking down as her hand came down onto one of the boxes, and she blinked as her palm touched something smooth. A hole had been chewed in the side of one of the boxes next to her, presumably by rats, and a few of the vials had spilled out. Glancing at the group infront of her in the light, then down to the vials, she backed away. three of them comming with her, and slipping into her pockets. Proof...right? Right. That was what she was telling herself as she silently made her way back outside the building, and hauled ass back to her car, once safely outside, and threw herself in.
Glass shipment forgotten, she pulled the three vials out of her pocket and stared down at the red liquid inside. slipping one back into her pocket, and the other two deep inside her glove box, hidden under papers.
Phone was pulled out of her other pocket, and as she put the car in gear, blue tooth was nestled in her ear, and soon she was blurting out what she'd found. "Jenna!!!! Momma i just found something and I don't know what to...I mean.....They are selling V....Out of this warehouse!! there was alot of them!!!" Rattling off the address of the place she'd just been in, she manuvered her car in the direction of Jenna's house. Knowing she needed to find her queen. And Now.
Jenna was arguing with Valen over the fact that Kaikou had asked him to buy vodka.
"You drink more white russians than any of us, so why wouldn't you go get it?"
"It was the way he asked! So smug, so arrogant, so.....grrrr"
Jenna arched a brow. The temperamental lion sometimes got on her last nerve, but he was with her for reasons people did not know, and possibly never would. She and Valen had a bond that would likely last their entire lives. They were okay with that. Jenna was usually okay with that, but right now she wanted to reach out and tug his fanned out hair. It was then her phone rang.
"Jenna!!!! Momma..."
It was a sound that struck a chord deep inside Jenna Foster. Her little blue haired tiger was calling for her, and while it may sound like just a phone call to others, to Jenna she heard the sound of her girl needing her.
She sprang into action, "I'll meet you halfway, when you get to Paul Street, park it and wait for me..."
Jenna was in her car and heading in the direction that she told Avery to park, breaking at least five traffic laws along the way. Once there, she parked her own car then got into Avery's with her. She leaned to put her hand gently to the back of Avery's head and gave her a comforting rub of her cheek and purr to soothe the blue tiger. She studied her girl for a few moments. It'd been a while since she saw Avery and she needed time to drink in her features, see her eyes, ensure she was truly okay before continuing.
"Ok, lead the way babe, I want to see this warehouse, then I figure we'll just call the police...." She smelled the blood in the vehicle, her nostrils flared, eyes roving over the interior until they landed on Avery.
"You have some of it with you...." It made her tense. There were many reasons for it; she didn't want Avery tempted to try it, she didn't want her girl to become an addict, she didn't want it around any of them, she didn't want Avery in trouble for having an illegal substance, she just didn't want anything to do with V, in any way, shape or form.
When they neared the warehouse, Jenna had her eyes fastened on the place, licking her lips to taste the air, watching everything that seemed to even remoately move around the building.
"So, how many people were in there? Were they human?" she tipped her head to glance around the back of the building as far as she could see from Avery's vehicle. "slow down.....I think they're loading it..."
They were, in several different automobiles, loading the trunks to disperse the V throughout the city. "Bloody hell, Avery. Is that entire warehouse full of it? We have to call somebody..." Calling the authorities was never high on Jenna's list of things to do, in any situation, but this one seemed to warrant that they do more than just handle it themselves, or ignore it.
"But before we do, show me how much of the stuff you have in this car..."
Jenna was comming. Her momma was comming and that was all that mattered. Nodding, then realizing Jenna couldn't see her, nor hear her head rattle, she spoke "Ok...Ok i'll be there." And it was there that Jenna found her. Idling at the curb, and then swinging the jeep around to head back to the warehouse she'd stumbled upon.
Nodding her head to Jenna's question, she murmmered softly, watching the men she'd seen loading up trucks and suv's and cars. "Yeah.....whole fucking place is filled with crates and boxes of the shit...." And then she winced, realizeing that if SHE smelled the shit, then Jenna of course would have been able to as well.
Looking back to the blond tigress, she ducked her head guiltily, and dug in her pocket, pulling out the vial, and handing it over to Jenna. And after a few more minutes, reaching across her, and pulling open the glove box, and digging out the other two, and handing them over as well. Pupils still dialated from just the smell of the shit, she watched Jenna intently.
Had she wanted to try the shit? Yeah...she was curious. Of all of Jenna's cats, Avery was probably the most curious, and most likely to get herself into trouble. "Just wanted to see what it was like..." came the mumbled excuse. Braids came forward to hide her face behind an electric blue curtian. pale skin bright in the dim light comming from the street lights and warehouse.
Glancing up at Jenna, she chewed at her lower lip lightly. "...So what do we do now? Cops are gonna wanna know how we found the place....can't very well tell them I smelled it can we?"
She hated how Avery seemed so ashamed. She didn't want her to feel that way, but there was lots of things Jenna wanted that she didn't get. She took the three vials of blood....then leaned toward Avery and put her finger beneath her chin and brought her head up so they could be forehead to forehead.
"Baby, no, it's okay. I'd be curious too, I think. I just..." what was she supposed to say? I just don't want to see you strung out? I already watch somebody I care about do it all the time and there's nothing I can do?
"I just don't want you hurt, and this shit...hurts. It kills." She gripped the vials and lifted her head to look at the loading up of the goods. "Well, we don't tell 'em nothing. We make an anonymous call....." Jenna hissed out a 'shit' as one of the men noticed them sitting there. He was headed their way.
"Ok, Avery, time to show me what this Jeep can do..." She pointed toward the man coming their way. Sure, she and Avery could hold their own, even against a dozen men, but that wasn't the point, the point was Jenna didn't want them associated with any of this. At all. But now they had three vials of V in their possession and the ones pushing it spotting them.
Avery let her head be tilted up, and met Jenna's eyes, looking so serious. But when she explained a bit, she gave a nod. She didn't want to disapoint Jenna. That was something she tried hard never to do.
As Jenna's head came up, Avery's gaze followed hers, and she winced, straightening in her seat, and tightening her seat belt as the guy headed for them. Muttering out of the corner of her mouth, "put them in your bra momma....just in case..." Nobody but they would be able to smell the shit. And even if they happend to get pulled over because of her crazy ass driving, it wasn't going to be a lycan as a cop. they didn't let lycan's be cops. BLood tests and all that.
Throwing the jeep into reverse, she pulled out of the ally, and then threw it into gear, takeing off like a shot down the street. Hopefully before the guy could get a look at her license plates. But then again, even if he did, she hadn't gotten her new plates yet, so they still sported LA plates. It was yet another thing she needed to get on as soon as possible.
takeing off down the street, she twisted and turned, takeing one street after another, and soon heading for Jenna's house. Or what she still thought was Jenna's house. Eye's flicking to the rear view mirror as she did so, again and again.
In her bra? Jenna, despite the tension of the situation, dropped her eyes to her shirt. Shrugging she stuffed the vials down into her cleavage, did a little push and adjustment of her boobs, all while she was swaying to the Avery's driving. She turned her torso to face the blue tigress, "Can you tell I have shit stuck in my bra?" She grinned, glanced back to see if they were being followed, then ahead.
"Oh wait, wait, turn here. I'm living above Paix now, sweetheart...." She didn't offer any explanation, at least not yet, they needed to make sure they were in the clear first. "Phone booth!" she pointed to the phone booth, a really rare thing these days, and waited for Avery to pull over. Jenna hopped out, stood in the hot sun making the call, keeping her eyes on the street they'd just come from.
She gave the police a quick tip, slammed the phone down, then lifted her shirt to swipe at the phone before crawling back into the Jeep. Once they were at Paix, Jenna and Avery sat in the Jeep a few minutes. "Now what the hell are we going to do with these?" She framed her boobs with her hands, glancing at the guy who walked by just as she said that, and gave the stranger a look that said 'don't even dare say a word, mofo'.
Avery glanced over at Jenna as she asked if she could tell she had somethings hoved in her bra, and the little blue tigress couldnt' help but snort out a laugh, and grin back at her sister. "God...that is a weird question...." Glancing down quickly, she shook her head, and turned back to the road, flickign eye's up to look in the mirror. "You look fine though..."
Avery almost wrecked when Jenna told her to turn, instead of heading to the house, instead directing her to Paix, and she blinked, arching a brow, and glancing at the blond. "Umm....your gonna explain that one soon as the car's stopped....." Brakes were hit when she sang out about the phone booth, and she sat, watching the street behind her in the rearview as Jenna made her phone call to the cops.
When she got back in the car, and Avery finally got them to Paix, she pulled into a parking spot, but didn't turn off the engine just yet. Not wanting to sit in the heat, without the ac on. Turning down her music, an Artist from up Boston way, Dann Russo, who was belting out a song about Fortunes, Forcasts and Lucky Charms, Avery turned her attention back to Jenna, and snickered softly at the look she got from the guy that walked past.
"Huh? Your asking me? Your the one in charge woman! Why you think i called you??"
Jenna grinned at Avery. "I may be the one in charge, but that does not mean you have no thoughts, babe. Someday, it could be you in charge..." she was climbing out of the Jeep, waving Avery in with her. She glanced over the area of the Spa that was for hair styling, and did not see Valen at his station, but another stylist there. Odd.
She walked to the bathroom, promptly emptied the vials of V in the toilet and flushed, then walked back out to the spa and wrapped the vials in thick towels, crushing them then dumping them in the biohazard bin kept on the premises.
"Come upstairs Avery, I want to show you the new place, lots of room if you need a place to stay..." she was always trying to wrangle a way to get her girl to stay with her, The elevator opened to the top floor of Paix, that was now an open studio penthouse, part of it with a glass ceiling, but Jenna knew something was amiss the moment she stepped from the elevator.
Kaikou was not here, his presence was absent. So was his sword and mask. They were so much a part of the kitsune, that it underlined the absence of her fox. A brief flash of panic gripped Jenna, breathing hitched in her ribs, then she was making a 180 and heading right back into the elevator.
"Avery, can you come with me, please? We have a fox and lion to locate...." Had she not questioned the staff, she still would have found them. Her nose led her toward the door, and directly down the street to the neighbors, where they would find god knew what mess.
