Contrary to popular belief Wizard are no slouches when it comes to physical activity. Just like running, or lifting weights was physically exhausting stuff. As a rule though they often opted to keep themselves hidden, people expected wizards to be sagely old men, not dashingly handsome and able to run flat out at a dead sprint as long as any Olympic level athlete. All the while, calculating complex levels of mathematical probability in his head to say james could multi task was an understatement.. James ran, and he ran like his life depended on it.As he ran, passy by’s might notice the skin underneath his thin t-shirt glowing with a pale muffled emerald green light. At his elbows where the tattoos started , the emerald light was not muffled and glowed as bright as any flashlight. His eyes where unfocused as he moved, dodging deftly in between people, jumping over outstretched legs of those who where relaxing in the nice sun.
Suddenly his eyes shot to his left where a bicyclist had been riding along listening to his blasted MP3 player. Without so much as slowing down James reached a hand out murmured a word, and cyclist would find a neighboring trash can topping over into his path, causing him to swerve and avoid the street crossing, just as a local bus barreled right in front of his path. Eyes then moved while he ran to the powerline transformer box ahead of him and James Slowed down, the nauseating feeling of dark magic climbing to a crescendo. James slowed to a stop as he neared the transformer box. Eyes fixed upon it. Dark magic swirled around him, and his eyes darted about. His eyes focused on nothing in particular while he looked about. The tattoos on his arm, and sprawled across his back still ablaze with energy while the probabilities swirled around his eyes.
The bus entered no longer to be diverted started into a right turn at the corner that James now stood, his vision blurred with the energy about him. A hand raised to the sky James started to pull in his will, eyes closed while he shaped the energy. pulled it within, and used it to create a channel through to the earth, underneath all the pavement, and sewers and other manmade constructs. Just as a car, trying to beat the bus around the turn grazed the pole the transformer was placed upon, it was just the outlet the dark energy rising was looking for,it rose and lashed out, causing the box to jostle and let lose a power cable, like with electricity, james took a deep breath and said “Zephrys.” Instead ofsnapping and flailing wildly thelive wire blew forth into James’ outstretched hand. And he was glad that he was insulated his mind and ground his body with magic. Because the sudden voltage rushing through his body, urged every muscle in every limb to contrict and grow close to his core.A sudden shout of pain and the wizard fed that energy into the earth, the tattoos on his arms and back growing from green to blue, to purple to red he rose a hand and forced his will and a portion of the electricity at the transformer box. “Hex…” and an arc of brilliant blue electricity met the transformer which then exploded into sparks, bringing the city block, buildings and all into darkness.
James heart was racing. His body was buzzing with energy he had just called to his command. But, he was alive, and so was everyone else in the area, even the idiot who wanted to beat the mass transit bus was well on his way. James closed his eyes and leaned against the pole before he slumped down to sit eyes closed while he tried to control himself. The color dying from the ink in his skin, fading until it was simple black ink once again.
entropy curses could not be outrun. they where chaos, they served their purpose. and no one, could avoid them, one merely had to ensure they landed in such a way to avoid the death their caster so desired of the Target. James Cooper had beaten eight before this one... and they never got any easier to stop.
